Thor Two's Sifki Theory
-
In Thor The Dark World, we see a lot of tension between both Jane, Sif, Thor and Loki. Here are the examples to my Sifki theory.
-
In the beginning, we see a failed attempt on Sif's part to go drinking with Thor. He politely declines but even as they speak, you can see the wall he has built between Sif since Thor 1. Sif also notices, and she knows the wall is the mortal Jane.
-
Knowing this, she desires to spark a jealousy in Thor, to get him back to her. Knowing that Loki is among one of his weak spots, even if he won't admit it, she visits Loki in prison. She is a highly respected warrior with great skill, so we can see how sneaking into his cell would be an easy task for her.
-
A few scenes later, when Frigga and Odin discuss the jailbreak and Jane stands awkwardly off to the side, we see Sif walk by as if sizing Jane up. Jane seems to recognize Sif from the first Thor movie when she was on the rescue mission, but notices her new gaze of aggression, and a hint of jealousy.
-
Next comes Thor helping Loki escape prison. During their fun and games, Loki turns his brother into Sif. Two things happen here. One, he admits that the appearance is appealing to him, hinting that while Thor was being distracted by Jane, he was keeping his eyes on the ultimate prize. This also shows that not only is he attracted to Sif, but he also wants to make Thor jealous. Two, she is NOT wearing her old attire. Meaning either Loki had seen Sif briefly before being sent to the cell (which is unlikely considering the detail was 100% correct and a quick encounter would not have been enough time to notice the specifics to cast the illusion) or he had been receiving secret visits from Lady Sif while in his cell.
-
Then we see the encounter between Sif and Loki. Sif, being in front of Thor seems very snappy. She threatens to kill Loki, as if reminding him (and herself) that he is /not/ her first choice. Loki smirks, responding coolly as if knowing that her feelings have grown stronger as she went along with her plans in making Thor jealous. He knows Sif has found interest in him, even if she won't publicly admit to any such things. He also claims "I like her." When slapped by Jane. I can only see this as an attempt to make both Sif /and/ Thor jealous.
-
After that there is the ship scene. Loki sharply reminds Thor that Jane will die much, much sooner than he will. Thor knows this, but refuses to acknowledge the fact. Like Odin in the beginning of the movie, Loki seems to be pointing out that Sif would be the better choice, yet hiding the fact that he has her. I see this as both a sympathetic statement from Loki in a harsh manner, and a realization that Sif does have more interest in himself since being rejected by Thor. And Loki, having lost Frigga (the one person who cared for him in his mind), isn't willing to accept love of any kind. He feels he doesn't deserve it, no matter how he wants it. He is almost trying to let go of Sif as he says this. But, I can honestly say that I don't think he /wants/ to.
-
In conclusion, I can state that Thor The Dark World created a almost perfect Sifki set up for Thor 3. And I can't wait to see how it plays out. The first movie was filled with the stolen glances between the two, even in the cut scenes. But this was the motherload of all Sifki proof.
