I pull up against my house. I look around and finally spotted the familiar blue honda of my childhood. My dad's car. I jumped off my bike and run inside, slamming the door open. What I saw was a sight I wanted to forget forever. My dad was holding my mother against the wall with his hands around her neck. My anger boiled, ready to explode onto the man who ruined our family and lives.
"MOM!!! Old man, LET GO OF HER!!!" I yelled pushing him away from my mother. He stumbled back a bit but I chose to ignore him. I looked all around my mom, hoping the bastard hasn't done anything to her. I was just about to breathe a sigh of relief until I saw the dark bruises surrounding her neck. I looked into her eyes, seeing tears emerge. I wanted to wipe them away but I didn't have the chance as to I was send flying towards the floor. I looked up to see my dad come charging at me again. I got up and quickly backed up while he crashed into me again, sending us both falling to the oh-so-wonderful ground once more.
My head hit the ground full force while my dad clumsily got back up, now going for Noah and Alec that had just entered the door from a friend's house. Their chatter died down and their eyes widened as my father pulled something out of his pocket. I was too drowsy and too far away to see what it was but I knew it was something very dangerous from the way Noah was pulling Alec, begging and trying to get him out of his frozen state as he stared at my father. Then, my father decided to throw whatever it was he was holding in his hands.
Noah pushed Alec and, from what I could see, what seemed like a knife flung into the door and plopped itself into the door frame. Noah and Alec both rolled onto the ground but luckily, they were safe. And that's all that mattered right now. Keeping my loved ones safe and under my protection.
Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, the door opened and revealed Alexa. She had her duffle bag in her hand and her face was morphed into one of confusion's. Then, she quickly realized what was happening when she took a quick glance around the room.
"Alexa, GET OUT!!!" I screamed but it was too late. My dad had grabbed her and spun her around so she was facing me. He put the crook of his arm around her neck, holding her in a choke hold. Then, he proceeded to take something shiny out of his pocket. A gun. He held it up to her temple and smirked at me. Probably knowing that I cared about her.
"Dad, please. Let her go. She hasn't done anything wrong to you." I said, trying to contain my anger. I slowly approached them, until he put his finger into the gun's trigger.
"Ah, ah, ah! Move any closer, and I shoot." He said causing me to stop dead in my tracks. "What have you caught yourself, Ryder? Hmm? She's very pretty." He said, looking directly at me. He tilted his head to the right and took a strand of her hair, twirling it around the gun. "I might just have to have a little fun with her." When he said that, Alexa froze with wide eyes. Her breathing quickened and tears began to form in her eyes. I growled at him, my anger taking the best of me. He slightly pressed the trigger causing Alexa to whimper. His eyes became even more wide.
"Shut up you slut!" He yelled at her, causing her to flinch. "Now, be a good little girl and walk towards the couch." She didn't budge. "Do it, or else I'll shoot all of them. Every. Single. One." He said, finally making her move. When they were about to reach it, my dad pushed her forwards, making her fall into the couch. She turned around, trying to get back up, but he held her down with his hands. He leaned forwards and whispered something into her ear, causing her to gasp. Then, he put his gun back into his pocket and started to undress himself until he reached his pants. He stopped and began to take her shirt off. She began to struggle and he slapped her. He. F***ing. Slapped. Her. Her head turned to the side, giving me a glance at the red handprint on her cheek.
I heard a sob and I looked around the room to see my mom stand there with her hands covering her mouth. She was slightly shaking from the tears being spilled. Meanwhile, Noah and Alec were next to her, trying to block her view.
I took a step forward to stop my dad but Alexa looked at me. She raised an eyebrow and then motioned me to look down. I gave her a confused look. Then, my eyes wandered down to where her hand was. It was in his pocket! My heart stopped. Was she actually going to let him do this? I gave her a look full of sadness causing her to roll her head back and then glare at her hand. I stared at her hand until I finally saw the glint of the gun. Oh.
Yes! That's my girl!
She's not yours! The voice in my head said in a sing song voice. I groaned mentally and went back to the problem at hand.
She slowly slid the gun out but abruptly stopped. My dad was letting his arms roam everywhere on her body, but the place they were made me shake silently. Then he squeezed causing her to scream loud, filling the room with her pain filled tears. I wanted to hold her in my arms and never let go.
She still went on with her plan of sliding the gun out his pocket. When she finally did, she threw the gun, making me jump for it. I was just about to reach it but a force threw me to the ground. I rolled around wrestling whatever threw me until I realized it was my dad.
I let out all my anger at him. For ruining our lives. For hurting mom. For hurting Alec and Noah. For his decisions. For hurting Alexa.
I threw a punch at him and he received it full blow to his face. His head snapped back. While he tried to gain control, I threw another punch. And another. And another. I head yelling in the background and I saw my mom jumping around waving something in her hand. Taking advantage to my distraction, my dad punched me in the stomach. I lurched forward, my hands immediately going to clutch my abdomen. He then proceeded to knee me in the face. I felt blood trickle down my cheek and pain in my lip. I was about to fight back but a loud bang vibrated around the room. My dad's body fell onto mine until I managed to push it off. I looked around the room to see A. Noah and Alec standing with their jaws to the ground. B. Alexa staring wide eyed at something. And C. My mom standing there with a gun in her hands. She dropped to the ground sobbing. Alexa, Noah, Alec, and I rushed towards her.
"I ki-killled him. I rea-really killed him." She said stuttering between loud sobs. I finally realized that she had killed my father. I got up from the floor and went over to slowly take the gun out of my mom's hand. She collapsed but I catched her before she hit the floor.
"Mom? Are you okay?" I slowly asked. No response. I turned her over to find out that she had fainted. I threw the gun to the floor and then gave her to Alec and Noah. They snapped out of their trance and took hold of her gently. "Take her upstairs." I said quietly, still in a little bit of shock. They nodded and walked upstairs to put her to bed.
I looked towards Alexa. Her mouth was still open in shock probably.
No dip Sherlock.
I ignored him and instead bent down and picked her up into my arms. I walked upstairs to her room and kicked open the door while she snuggled into my chest. She looked so adorable. I put her down onto her bed.
"Ryder, thanks." She whispered softly. I nodded and the next thing I did surprised us both. I bent down and kissed her. On the lips.
