There's Double

Chapter 8

Thomas awoke to the sound of screaming. He looked around the room trying to see the danger. Patton, Logan, and Roman popped up, soon followed by Virgil who was not that thrilled to be awake this early. Thomas laid his gaze on the ground as he looked at his sister's figure shaking tangled in the blankets. Thomas raced to her side and reached out to touch her only to be stopped by someone shouting. "Don't touch her!" they looked in the direction of the voice to see Virgil standing there freaked out. 

"What why? Can't you tell she's in pain" Patton exclaimed reaching down as well before being grabbed by Logan. "Logan let me go! I need to help her!"

"No Virgil is right" he stated. Everyone looked at him in surprise.

"I'm sorry come again. Did you just agree with Virgil" Roman questioned standing by Thomas who now was sitting a few feet away from Stella. Stella screamed again and pain came on Thomas's face.

"Yes Roman I did and here is why. Stella is in the state of deep sleep which is in the middle of the sleep cycle. The length of those stages vary on different things. It could vary on age, medical problems, and well life. If a person wakes up in deep sleep then it can be very harmful. If someone wakes them up in really deep sleep in can be deadly. If you touch her and wake her up now she has a risk of dying-"

"Whoa hold up she can't die from being woken up in deep sleep" Roman interrupted. 

"Actually Roman her blood pressure could sky rocket which causes death to some people" Logan shot back.

"What if she's not one of those people Logan" Roman fired back.

"There still is a chance that she is" Logan yelled. Stella scream echoed through the room, before being stopped abruptly and she laid still her breaths short and uneven.

"Logan please let us get to her" Patton pleaded. Logan just shook his head. Virgil was over by Stella's side looking at Logan. At times like these Virgil was the expert. 

"If anybody is going to help her in the state that she is in then it would have to be Virgil" Logan sighed gesturing towards the dark persona. Everyone looked at him as he stared at Stella. 

"Verge" Thomas whispered.

"Virgil" Patton pleaded.

"Virgil" a voice whimpered. It was Stella. his name escaped her mouth has she continued to sleep. Virgil smiled and slowly raised his hand to Stella's forehead. He breathed as he brushed her hair from her face. She slowly opened her eyes letting the light in the room blind her for a few seconds. "Virgil" Stella questioned.

"Yeah it's me" he smiled. Stella slowly sat up. She looked around to see that she was on the floor surrounded by Thomas and the others. 

"Stella" Thomas shouted as he made his way over to her. She embraced her brother as he whispered to her. She looked up to see Patton with a smile on his face and tears in his eyes. She released her brother and struggled on standing up. Once she did she attacked Patton bringing him in a hug. Patton cried as she whispered in his ear. She looked over at Roman to see him comforting Thomas. He looked at her and smiled both with his mouth and with his eyes. She returned the smile. Then she looked at Logan who just simply nodded and she returned it. Finally she looked back at Virgil. He was away from the group and was headed for the kitchen. Stella made her way over to him. 

"Thanks Verge" she whispered in his ear making him jump. Virgil turned around to reveal a smiling Stella. He smiled back and pulled her into a tight embrace. 

"I protect remember" he whispered back. Stella nodded her head as she pulled away. Giving him one last smile before turning back to be with the others. 

Virgil's POV (Point Of View)

I stared as she walked away. My face felt warm. Was it supposed to be this hot in here. Should I talk to Patton about it. Nah probably shouldn't wouldn't want anything bad happening no offense to Patton. My chest is hurting. Man it really is warm in here. My heart is racing. I feel like it's gonna leave my body. What is happening.

"Virgil" someone called. I was too lost in thought. 

"Virgil are you okay" someone else questioned. I felt something hit me knocking me out of my daze. I jerked to see a pillows around me. 

"Verge buddy are you okay" Thomas asked looking worried.

"Yeah I'm fine why?"

"Well you look really warm and you are kinda breathing fast."

"Yeah I'm fine" I sighed. Stella walked towards me and reached for my forehead. The contact startled me a little. Her hand felt so cold. I jumped back "Your hand is cold Stella."

"No it's not but you are really warm. Come on I'll take you to my room so you can rest" she smiled. She led me to her room. I sat down on her bed my cheeks getting warmer. Stella went to her closet and grabbed another pillow and blanket. When she got back to the bed and finished putting the extra things on she came back towards me. 

Stella's POV

Virgil didn't look so good early. I wonder what happened in the short time after me exiting the kitchen. He was now sitting on my bed and I was making my way back to him. His face was really red. I was really starting to worry about him. He finally spoke. "Stella I was wondering something."

"What's up Verge?"

"I want to try something just to see what it's like" he looked up at me.

"Um okay what can I do to-" I stated before I was cut off by something against my lips. My eyes looked down to see Virgil right in front of me with his eyes closed and his lips on mine. I closed my eyes and followed his movement, the kiss getting more passionate.

Third Person POV

 Their lips finally pulled apart and they both slowly opened their eyes. Both their faces were really red and Stella had a look of shock. "Virgil" she breathed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know what came over me I-" he was cut off by Stella's lips on his and he closed his eyes. They shared another passionate kiss before separating. 

"It's okay Virgil" Stella smiled as she turned and headed for the door.

"Hey Stella" Virgil quickly said. Stella turned around.

"Yeah?"

"Thanks for letting me experience something."

"No problem" she smiled. "Now you get some rest okay?"

"Okay" he smiled.

"Oh and Virgil."

"Yeah Stella?"

"Don't worry I won't tell anyone" she smiled and walked out the door. Virgil smiled as he laid his head down closing his eyes and letting his nightmares begin.
