• Stephanie's POV

Everything happened so fast. John was unconscious, we ran away, and now we're lost.
"Sar, you sure you know where we goin'?" I asked once again.
"Yes! Now shush." Rolling my eyes, I stayed silent and kept walking.
My feet we're killing me! They were aching and I was starving, we haven't stopped walking since we got out of the house, not even for a small bathroom break. "Can we please stop Sar? My feet are killing me, we've been walking for two straight hours" Janet whined. Thank God, it wasn't only me. "Fine, let's eat, we have a lot of more walking to do." Sighing in relief, we all sat down in a small bench. Looking up at the sky, I guessed it was about 6 of the afternoon. "Hey Steph, here" Turning, Janet was handing me a peanut butter sandwich "Thanks."
We spend about 20 minutes sitting there, not saying a word.
"Hey Sar, there's a bus stop right over there, can't we just take the bus to where ever we're going?" Angie asked. "I suppose." Saray replied. "Where are we going?" I asked as we walked towards the bus stop.
"Well, before mom passed, she always told me that she wanted for us to move to a town called Tulsa, she never told John about it." Saray said.
"So we're going to Tulsa?" Janet asked.
"Yep."

"Call me stupid but I almost forgot what a bus was" I told them as we got into the bus. "Some of us haven't been on one and well at least remember"  Janet said and laughed a little. I really don't get it John was nice when mom was around, why did he have to turn himself into a monster. The way he would beat us, the things he told us, how he locked us up as if  we were dogs. And how he– "come on Steph let's go" Angie took me away from my thoughts as she dragged me into the bus.

We were getting close to Tulsa when we came to another stop. Around five to eight people got on the bus. "Excuse me ma'am would you be kind enough to let me take your seat" an old lady asked Saray. "Oh.....uh yeah, yeah, here you go" I watched my sister stand up with a smile, letting the old lady have a seat. "Oh thank you so much, what a fine woman you are, your parents must be so proud" the old lady told her, 'well that's funny our stepfather is a psychopath and our mother is dead, but yeah sure they're really proud' I told her in my head. If I would have said something like that out loud Saray would have my head, wouldn't want that to happen. "Ah yes, they really are, my sisters and I are actually heading to our grandmother's." My sister replied back with a gentle smile, but if you really did know her, you could see all the lies she said in that one sentence, you'll even see how hurt she was to be reminded about our parents, about the life we were running away from. "Oh what kind girls you are, your grandmother, where does she live" she asked Saray. "She lives in Tulsa, we haven't seen her in two years, so hopefully she still lives there" Saray answered with a sigh. If we really had a grandma there I would be surprised if she was still alive.
"Well. . .I don't really do this often. .  .  Well I don't do this at all, but if you traveled all the way out here to see your grandmother but she ain't there, come over to my place-" she paused for a little, taking a sheet of paper out her purse and scribbled down a number. "Here call me when you find out, and even is she still is there, please call me. . .you seem like nice girls and I want to make sure you're alright."
"Oh no, we couldn't" My sister told her quickly. I watched the expression on the old lady's face and saw tears ready to drop. "Oh no-no-no, I didn't mean it that way, please don't cry, I just don't want to be a bother, I uh I will call you, just don't cry" I had to stifle a laugh as I witness my twin fumble between her words.
"Okay than it's settled, you'll give me a call and I help you with whatever you need"
Its official. . . .I need her to teach me how to do that.
