"I should probably go home soon, my mum'll be worried", Dan says a few minutes after the fireworks finish.

"Yeah, me too, can I walk you home though?"

"What a gentleman", He says giggling as I stand up and hold a hand out to help him up. "I'd love that".

I lead him though the trees, back over the fence, through the park and down the hill. We make our way along the street, intertwined hands and smiling faces. We don't say much on the way to Dan's house, but I know, or at least I hope, we're both thinking the same thing. Tonight was magical.

Dan guides me through streets, around corners, across roads, until we eventually reach a small house at the end of a street.

"Well, this is it", Dan says, turning to face me as we stand at the end of the garden path.

"Yeah", I say quietly, not really not wanting to say good bye.

"Thanks for walking me"

"Of course, sorry for dragging you up that hill by the way"

"It was so worth it though", he says smiling, and I smile back.

"Oh! here's my number", I blurt after a few seconds of silence, making Dan jump a little.

"Thanks", Dan says taking the scrap of paper. "I promise i'll call"

"You better", I chuckle.

"See you around Phil"

"Yeah, see you", I smile as Dan starts to take a few steps towards his house. I watch him look back at me before quickly running back to me to give me a kiss, a slight blush across both of our cheeks as he pulls away. He turns and walks away without saying anything else.

"Bye", I say as he makes his way back down the path.

"Bye", He replies as he looks at me before stepping inside his house.

What a night.
