Winter sucked.
Those were the kindest words you could give to the cold season. Winter meant cold air, cold ground, cold sky, cold people, and cold you. Winter or not, cold sucked.
Detaching yourself from the windowsill, you laid back down and stared at the plain ceiling. I hate winter.
Crisp sunlight filtered into the room, which was what woke you in the first place. Waking early and being cold also sucked.
In simplest terms, you woke up in a foul mood.
You sighed and closed your eyes, rubbing your temples to suppress a headache. Your sheets and blankets had lost the warmth from your slumbering body, and you kicked them to the floor. You swung your legs over to the chilly wooden boards, which sent you shivers and aggravated you even further.
Sending a glimpse back at the window, you snarled. Frost was all you could see.

Walking barefoot through the halls, you calmed yourself into a somewhat cheery mood for the morning. You knew it wouldn't last too long, but if you got food in time, it wouldn't be necessary.
After a few minutes, you made it to the breakfast table (hallelujah). Your mouth salivated as you sat down, staring at the different bowls of food adorning the wooden table. In order to not devour everything, including the table itself in a single gulp, you resorted to manners. "Good morning," you said, only now realizing that Keiji and Kasuga had sat beside you. Kenshin sat in front of you and smiled. "Good morning, Y/n. Please do not hesitate with your meal."
You smiled sheepishly and nodded. Kasuga sent you a glare, but smiled and handed you a rice bowl. Keiji'd already begun eating, and he had a few rice grains decorating his cheeks. "Gmm mrmrm!" (Good morning)
He beamed brightly with a full mouth, somehow being able to keep the food inside. You gave him a quick grin, then immediately began to fill your mouth like him. Kasuga watched with disgust, but Kenshin was amused. After taking a few bites, the War God complimented Kasuga's cooking, making her blush and avert her eyes.
"Ew," you mumbled, food still between your cheeks. You snickered and ran when Kasuga turned around and yelled at you, clearly offended. She pulled out a blade, but returned it when she calmed down.
"I still don't understand why you accept Y/n's actions. They should be more respectful!"
With food in his belly and not in his teeth, Keiji looked at Kasuga with innocence. "What are you talking about? You're mean, too."
Kenshin chuckled when his ninja chased Keiji out, throwing chopsticks into his unruly hair hard enough it poked his skull. "Owwww!!!" he whined, hurrying to get away.
Kasuga pouted after she sat back down. "I'm not mean..."

Keiji walked outside, roaming the wooden planks that built the deck. They were cold against his scarcely-covered feet, but he paid no mind to it. Watching the sun hide behind clouds, he plopped down, crisscrossing his legs. He had a dorky smile plastered on, and glitter in his eyes.
You were out too after running from Kasuga, so you walked up to him when you noticed him. You held your arms behind your back and leaned over, keeping a smile on your lips. "Can I sit next to you?"
He paused for a moment, startled out of his daze, then nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! Do you watch the clouds, too?"
"Eh, sometimes. I normally watch the cherry blossoms or something."
