The First Separation Between Us

A few weeks ago, we came back home from vacation. I wish it didn't end but good things must come to an end. It was great not working at the pizza place and now investing my time into fashion and clothing, makeup and hair, the shoes, and the designing process. And it's great that I'm getting closer to Savannah now. Like I mentioned before, it's great to have someone my ow age to talk to. Sam, my coworker, she's like twenty-six working at that pizza place. She's like four years older than me but it's like she has for more years of expertise of living than I do. And we just don't talk anymore since she left to go across the country.

"Do you know what Chase is doing for his birthday in three weeks?" Savannah pitches up a conversation.

"No, but he's full of ideas. I'm sure he will find something he wants to do."

"True that", Savannah agrees with me. "So, how was Hawaii? I've missed you and I haven't seen any photos lately."

I took my phone out from behind my jean pocket and let Savannah scroll through the photos. She spotted the picture where we first went to the beach and I was stretched out in the sand, enjoying the gaze I was staring out. "Wow", she mumbles. "Chase took that picture?"

"Yeah", I chuckled. "I guess he liked that view more than the view of Hawaii."

"He thinks you're beautiful. And I think so, too. He really loves you, Ashley."

"Aww. I'm glad this family is founded of me. It's actually great feeling like I have a family when everyone else I know is back home. I wanted to get away from my hometown because of past experiences but now that I'm here. I'm more content with where life has taken me and it's amazing."

"Yo. Tyler. Rob. We need to get out and do something, just us boys in a few weeks. Things are about to get much bigger this year." I can hear Chase through the hallway as he walks pass Savannah's room with the phone in his ear.

"What was that about?" Savannah looks over at me. I shrugged my shoulders because I'm just as clueless.

"We should eavesdrop on him." Savannah schemes up a plan.

"I don't know, Savannah. He hasn't talk to his friends much and haven't been around them, I wouldn't like to think I'm the center of attention for things."

"He does this to me all the time but now it's my turn to do it to him."

"Okay." We both quietly tipped toe across the hallway, nearby his room. "You don't know what he has plans to do for his birthday?" She asks me again.

"No idea." I reassured her with my final answer.

"It's gotta be big and epic!" His tone is pure happiness from what I can tell. "Alright, I'll text you guys more details later."

"Run, Ashley!" We both bolted back into her room before we saw Chase walking back this way.

"Ashley, come on. We got to finish moving some stuff from your apartment to mine."

"Can't I just stay here a little while longer?" I gave him my puppy face.

"Come on, Chase, please." Savannah joins in with me.

"I'm sorry, baby girl. We're almost done and I'm sure you can see Savannah another night."

"Sometimes, he's a buzz killer", I reminded Savannah when I mumbled this to her before she started to crack up. I hugged her and left with Chase.
