~Wendy's P.O.V~

I had just arrived home, and Daemon was cooking in the kitchen. I made myself comfortable and thought about the new life I just carved ahead of me. I wasn't sure if I would regret it, but it was for the best. I wanted to stay with Daemon forever. When he came through to our modernly designed dining room, something seemed off. He didn't seem normal.

"Daemon? Are you okay?" I asked worriedly.

"Yeah, why?"

"Something just feels off..." I shook my head gently then looked at what he made. He smiled reassuringly and to my delight, he made macaroni and cheese. We sat next to each other and happily tucked in. It was delicious!

Something still seemed off though. He seemed nervous...

"Daemon?"

"Hm?"

"Are you sure you're okay?"

He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "I didn't really want to tell you yet..."

"What is it?"

"I'm human again. I'm not a demon anymore."

My shock came to me quickly. "W-What...?"

"I'm human, Wendy. I'm with you. I'm like you."

"N-No..."

"No what?"

"I-I just got Kiyo to turn me into a demon..."

I was shocked. How could my own sister do that...? I started getting frustrated but tried my best to calm down. I failed though, so I left the room quickly as to not end up trying to hurt her, despite my power being weakened now. I saw the sadness in Wendy's eyes as I left which I succeeded in ignoring it.

I didn't know what to do, I was totally screwed. Once I become a human, there's no getting my demon back. Well, there is one way, but there's no point risking it...

I decided to stroll around town for a while to take my mind off things. My anger was quickly replaced with worry.

Wendy's gonna be hunted a lot, I thought, and I can't be there to protect her... I could teach her to protect herself, but that doesn't ease my worry...

Sometime later I returned to the house to find Wendy sleeping peacefully in bed. I got in beside her and drifted into an uneasy sleep...

The next morning I woke up to the sunshine hitting my face, and to my relief, Daemon was sleeping beside me. Thank god he didn't stay out too late...

I made my way down to the kitchen to make breakfast for both of us, hoping Daemon will feel the same way about forgetting what happened the night before. I fried eggs, toasted bread and laid it all neatly on plates while setting them neatly on the table, all before Daemon walked tiredly into the room.

"Good morning," I spoke in the happiest voice I could find.

"Good morning," He replied huskily and sat opposite me at the table. We started eating. When I'd finished, I waited for him to finish too before speaking up.

"Um, would you like to go shopping with me today?" I asked.

"Sure." He answered, which surprised me a little but I hid it.

After getting dressed, I met him outside by the car as he held the door open for me. I got inside, fastened my seatbelt and watched him do the same before he started the car and took off on the way to the mall. He turned on the radio too, and he ended up singing along to a song for the first time. His voice was beautifully soothing, as a result, I took out my phone and recorded it. I relaxed until his voice snapped curses.
