Hello! This chapter is just a short chapter to kind of let you see how it will go. I'm just posting this now because I want to get your feedback and see how this story will go. I won't post anything else until June when I have enough spare time to give my full attention to the book.
Please let me know if you'd be interested in this book and would want to read it.
Again, this is just a short chapter and just kind of a chapter to begin the book if you get me.. :)
So I'm done now and here's the first chapter:
(HARRY'S POv)
I signed up for the x-factor a couple weeks ago and here I am today, standing with my mum, step dad and sister in a queue that that reaches miles away from the arena. We’ve been standing here for hours and it feels like we’ve barely moved. At least it’s sunny outside and not the same old boring rain. There are so many thousands of people here and it’s quite overwhelming.
I’m constantly humming the song to myself just to make sure I don’t forget anything. This has to be perfect. I’m in a band, yet I’m here alone. This is my dream and I want it to come true. I want to be known. I want people to know who Harry Styles is.
We move slowly but we were reaching the arena to fast. I wasn’t ready. I looked up at the blue sky, staring into the sun taking a deep breath. This will happen. This will work.
“I’m going to run to the bathroom, don’t go.” I cleared my throat.
“Alright sunshine. Hurry up.” My mum shot me a bright smile making me relax a bit.
Finding the toilets felt like ages. Well, I stumbled across three or four bathrooms but they were all packed with people. Finally I found one that only had a few people in it. I walked up to the sink to splash some water in my face. Taking a deep breath, I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked nowhere near ready.
“Here for x-factor?” I voice beside me asked making me jump a bit.
“Yeah. You?”
“Yeah. I’m Louis. Louis Tomlinson.”
“I’m Harry Styles.” I introduced myself, shaking his hand. He looked older, not much, but you could tell. “Nervous?” I asked to keep up a conversation, it helped me relax.
“A little. Nothing major.” I nodded. “Where are you from?” His voice was not deep and it quite relaxed me.
“Cheshire, more specifically Holmes Chapel. You?” I asked.
“Yorkshire; more specifically Doncaster.” He said mocking me a bit, giving me a smirk. Its hard keeping up a conversation with someone you don’t know at all. It was barely a minute long conversation but I had to get out.
“Well, I think my mum’s waiting for me. Maybe I’ll see you around? Good luck.”
“Yeah. Good luck!” He smiled back to me before I walked out the bathroom, back outside. It’s sunny and warm outside which was nice. My mum had moved much closer than before.
“There you are! I thought you were lost.” She chuckled.
“Just hard to find the washrooms.” I smiled.
I saw Louis walk outside and then stop a couple feet ahead of me in the line. He was the only one here that I knew the name of, not including my mum, Robin and my sister of course. I have to admit, looking at the people around me my hopes of getting through dropped to zero.
My mum was making conversations with the other people around. I had no interest. Louis was looking around and I was thinking about walking up to him just to chat. He seemed like a nice person. Before I could gather up my mind and walk towards him, he was already smiling and making his way over.
“Didn’t think I’d see you this soon again huh?” He laughed a little making me smile. “Fancy hanging out till I need to audition?” He asked. I looked to see my sister busy on her phone and my mum nodding eagerly, telling me to go with him.
“Sure.” I smiled. We walked for about few minutes until we found a place where we could sit down and chat. Well, first we played a little football.
“So Harry. How old are you? I myself am eighteen years old.”
“I’m sixteen years old.” It felt a bit awkward. I didn’t know him at all and our conversation came to a dead end a few times but it came around after a while. I’m just glad that I met someone here and if we both make it I would at least have one friend at boot camp. Louis has quite a few sisters which he loves dearly given from how he talks about them. I myself just have one sister but she’s my world.
“Got a girlfriend out there?” He laughed.
“Uhm no...” I answered truthfully. I’ve had girlfriends or really just a girlfriend but not for long periods of time. “Do You?” I snapped myself out of my thoughts.
“Yes I do actually.” He smiled proudly. Well that’s nice.
Another dead end to our conversation, but it was nice having his company and knowing that he had interest speaking to me.
“What do you plan on singing?” He broke the silence between us.
“Isn’t she lovely by Stevie Wonder.” I answered and the song popped into my head again. Maybe it’s time to be heading back for the queue. Louis must’ve read my mind. “I think we should go back. It’s probably about time to go in.” He smiled. “It was really nice meeting you and I hope I’ll see you around in the near future.” He grinned before we walked back.
“Yeah. It was nice meeting you.” I waved.
That was the day I met Louis William Tomlinson.
