Lucifer had been right. She really didn't like it when he came back into the room, but remembering that as long as she stayed strong her family wouldn't get touched made her go on. She had been beaten, whipped, slapped and psychologically tortured by images of her mother appearing in front of her telling her how worthless she was.
When she heard the key being turned in the door yet again she jumped slightly and winced.
"Well hello my dear. How do you feel today?", Lucifer asked and tilted his head noticing her state. "Your family talked about you...", he quietly spoke stopping in front of her but not touching her yet.
"W-what did they say?", she quietly asked not looking at him. He sighed acknowledging how exhausted she was.
"They said they wished you were her to suffer instead of them because you deserved it. After getting told they were tortured because you took the torture for them they laughed and said, and I quote here 'Just like she should do. Hope you use her cute ass nicely'. That's... that's the reason I'm not going to hurt you anymore.", he spoke making her frown confused and look at him tiredly.
"Why? D-don't go back to torture them... please...", she pleaded and he shook his head slightly.
"I think it'd be worse for them to see you healthy and ... well yeah.", the male mumbled and tapped her forehead making her feel better right away before untying her.
"Are you hungry?", he then asked as she rubbed her wrists carefully to see if they hurt, what they, to her surprise, didn't.
"N-no not really. Thank you.", she replied knowing it was a lie but she was fat anyways. That's what everyone else around her always said.
"You are. You'll go and eat with me.", Lucifer replied and looked at her with a serious face.
"Okay Okay.", Grace replied with a sigh and followed him back to his usual room.
While they ate they sat in a comfortable silence. No conversations, only the quiet music to muffle the screams that could be heard here and there.
Grace ate about a quarter of her dish before pushing it away.
"This was really good. Thank you.", she quietly spoke and Luci frowned.
"You didn't even eat half. Aren't you hungry?", he tilted his head stopping to eat as well.
"Not really. I'm used to not eating much."
This wasn't even a lie, just that she didn't want to hardly eat. Either she didn't get anything, nothing was left after her dad and brothers finished, she had been punished or she just quickly took a few bites between choirs.
"You sweetheart are a strange person.", he shook his head and started eating again.
"And you don't even know half of the crap.", she whispered sure he didn't hear her because he did not react at all. Unbeknown to her he had heard it, but she also didn't know how long he had watched her and what he had seen. All the pain not only her family caused, but also the one she caused herself. All of her self doubts and prayers for a knight to save her.
He just knew what it felt like, what it felt like to be thrown away from your family just because you love too much, to be excluded and to feel as if you aren't worth anything. Of course he would never admit it, but he felt sorry for her.
