Chapter 6

As I came into the house mom was making dinner and setting up the table along with my dad chopping vegetables "What's going on?" Mom turned "The new neighbors Are coming over!" I nodded and set Emma down to play "Need help?" My mom wiped her hands on a napkin

"That'll be nice, just prepare the fruit!" I pulled out a red container and began cutting strawberries.

When I walked down I fixed the buttons on my shirt and saw my mom at the door with a tray of cupcakes. "Let's go the Summers are expecting us!" That's a cool last name.

We arrive at the door and Lydia rang a mid aged lady opened and hugged my mom "Hi Amelia! These are my kids Lydia and Alec" Amelia looked at us and hugged Lydia and then me I then saw a little girl peek out her blue eyes looked into mine and her curly light brown hair was going down her shoulders. And a mid aged man came and shook my dad's hand "Hello Margret and Sawyer!" My parents greeted him as Marcus

"Jessica is coming down she's getting ready but in the mean time. Emma!" The little girl ran into Marcus's arms and buried her little head on his shoulder. "This is our granddaughter, Emma" my parents cooed at her. Then a girl walked down her dark brown hair was in a ponytail and she wore a mid thigh floral dress and some sandals and light make up. She is beautiful.

"Oh! Margaret, Sawyer this is our 18 year old daughter, Jessica" she shook my dad's hand and hugged my mom and then Lydia and she held out her hand to me "I'm Alec." She smiled "I'm Jess." I smiled and she took Emma in her arms, my mom smiled

"So Jessica what school do you go to?" Jessica looked up "I do online classes, because I need to be there for Emma" my mom nodded smiling "Your sister is adorable!" Lydia beamed as she did faces at Emma, Jessica laughed

"She's not my sister she's my daughter!" I looked at her with wide eyes. "You look so young to be a mom!" Jess looked at Emma sadly "Emma's father died when I was 16 and Emma was one sweetie." Lydia stayed quiet and looked down. Wow. "Kids dinner!"

We walked to the kitchen and I sat in between my parents and Jessica's dad sat at the ends as for her mom also. Jessica sat next to Emma and Lydia was playing with her. "Need help Amelia?" Amelia nodded

"Alec, what're you studying for?"

"Well once I graduate from School I'm going into football" Marcus nodded smiling

"I used to do football also I was Quarterback!"

"That's what I'm heading for!" My dad nodded smiling. My parents were into business. My mom came in with a dish of chicken and a big mug of lemonade and Amelia walked out with vegetable soup and a bottle of wine.

"Enjoy!" We all dug in I saw jess feeding Emma in little bits. I smiled and felt something when she looked at me smiling.
