Chapter 7

Savannah’s POV

  I got a text from Grace saying that she had some big news to share. She is dating Brent. I asked her how it happened but she just said she will have to talk to me in person. Great now almost everyone I know is dating a Magcon boy. Except for me. I’m just that awkward loner sitting in the background. It’s Hayes birthday today. Later we are all going to the hotel they are staying at to celebrate. I wrap my gift and put it in a bag now I’m ready to go. Before I go I talk a walk along the beach. This is the first time I have been close to the water after the shark attack. I look out into the water and feel the pull. I look at my phone and realize the time. Shoot! I gotta get ready! I head back to my house to get ready. After I’m ready I yell at Isabel to hurry up because she is taking me. She comes downstairs looking beautiful as  usual. I never look that good. Anyway we hop in the car and are on our way.

  ~at the party~

  It was my turn to give Hayes his present. I hand it to him and he is smiling wide. When he opens it and looks at the hat I got him he gives an even bigger smiles and then hugs me. I talk to Grace and she said that they were just having out when he asked her out.   

“It was perfect”

  “That soooo cool Grace! Im so excited for you!  

“Thanks”she said.  

Tonight was a great night.   

~next morning~

  I wake up to the unbeatable smell of waffles and bacon. Yuuuummmm! I can’t wait. I take a shower and put my clothes on and head downstairs. When I get downstairs I see my parents, Isabel and Nash, and Hayes. They all starting singing happy birthday. I smile and hug all of them. Nash and Hayes tell us that we are going to the boardwalk. Yes! I love the boardwalk!   But before we go Hayes pulls me to the side.  

“Hey can I talk to you for a second?”

  Not thinking anything of it I say,   “Sure”

  “Ok well I have been thinking about this a lot and I really like you.”  

“Really! I like you too!”

  He took a sigh,    “Ok well for your birthday would you, Savannah, like to be my girlfriend?”

  I can’t believe I’m hearing this! I never thought this could happen! I mean now I won’t be left out and I’m just a regular girl!Nothing special! He starts to give me a funny look but then I realize it’s because I haven’t answered.

  “Oh sorry…and YES!”  

He gives me a big hug and takes a sigh of relief. When we get in the car to go to the boardwalk Nash and Isabel are just giving us this “look.” I blush and they break out laughing. 

  “We knew you two were perfect for each other all along!”Isabel said.

  “Ya you guys were asking us if you two liked each other or nah. We had an extremely hard time keeping it in!”Nash said. 

  That day we went to the boardwalk and had a great time. Hayes and I went on ALL the rides while Nash and Isabel were off doing their own thing.   Later that night my parents gave my big birthday presents. I got a penny board and an iPhone, since I didn’t already have one. It was a great birthday!
