A/N: here's chapter 4, hope you all enjoy!! Sorry I didn't get it up like I was supposed to - mild computer dysfunction and I had to update Stalked.
I stretched in bed, smiling at the sun's warm greeting on my skin. For some reason, I knew today was going to end up being a good day, even if I was meeting up with Reagan to be introduce to his pack. I flung my legs over the side f the bed, feeling light and cheerful. Skipping to my closet, I pulled out a pale yellow babydoll top and a pair of denim shorts from my dresser. I quickly changed and shoved on white sandals. I decided t go with a natural look today - applying little makeup and leaving my hair in it's natural waves in a lose ponytail, letting it fall over my left shoulder. I descended the stairs with a bounce in my step and headed to the kitchen for some breakfast.
"Morning parentals and kid brother!" I said cheerfully. I headed straight for the fridge and took out the carton of orange juice.
"Morning.... Dearest Holly....?" replied dad.
Mom and Chris looked at me with stunned faces.
I hummed as I took out a glass cup and poured the juice. "How is everyone this fine morning?"
"Good," mom answered hesitantly. "How are you?"
I smiled at the three of them sat at the table. "Fine. Great in fact." I put bread in the toaster and waited for it to pop up.
"Got anything special planned today?" asked dad.
I shrugged and popped a grape in my mouth. "Not really, just going to see the newest pack in town."
Mom's head perked up at this. "You're meeting Reagan's pack?.... Alone?"
My toast popped up and I spread a thin layer of jam on it. "No, Tilly and Valery are coming with me."
"Oh." Mom took out some bacon and eggs from the fridge and started the stove. "And how does Marcus feel about all this?"
I could feel my happy mood fading away. "He's not thrilled, but this is a good example that he needs to let me make my own decisions."
"I agree with you, honey," dad said as he hugged me. "So when are you going?"
There was a loud honk outside. "I guess now."
"Be back in time for dinner," mom exclaimed as I rushed to to the door. "I'm making taco salad!"
I practically skipped to Tilly's silver blue sports car. I was still unsure as to why I was in such a good mood. Maybe it was because Reagan was finally going to leave me alone while I slept. Maybe it was because I was planning to go back to the cabin soon. Or maybe it was the fact that I had gotten a summer job that I was starting soon and could keep my mind off of the whole werewolf, mate, challenge thing. Or things. Whatever the reason for my good mood, I was thankful.
"Whoa, someone's perky!" exclaimed Tilly as I climbed in the backseat.
Valery turned around in the passenger seat to face me. "In a good mood and you look nice?.... Are you doing this for Reagan? Or maybe to make Marcus jealous?"
"Ha ha, Valery, really funny." I scooted closer to their seats. "What do you mean 'and' I like nice? When don't I?"
Valery shrugged and turned back around.
"So where are they, exactly?"
"The guest house," Tilly answered. "Howard thought it would be best. Though Glory wasn't really all that happy about it."
"Well, can you blame her?" asked Valery. "I mean, she's been away from her son for so long - of course she's going to want to spend every moment with him. She hardly lets him out of her sight."
