Roman is the first to choke on his noodles as everyone in the room stares at Mike in complete and utter shock. My emotions stay civil as surprise creep up on me, but I just smile at the image that casts itself into my mind.
Poor Micky, I thought as I see his cheeks go pink from embarrassment.
"Well... Ma and Lillian were talking about it," he begins to rub the back of his neck. "Lillian was crying, Ma was yelling... because, I found it... but Lillian said that she had started her "period"..."
Roman gasps while I breath in a heavy breath, as I take in the information. I look at Roman who looks heart broken into his noodles, as a feeling of sorrow raises in my heart for the she devil.
"Does it mean that she's... no longer...?" Mike asks his brows furrow as Alani wraps her arms around him.
"Most likely, Mi..." Alani says in a sweet voice as she cuddles him to her chest. Seeing them like this makes my heart melt, for Alani has been in love with Mike since the first moment they met.
Although Mike never shows his true feelings to Alani, unlike my little sister who shows her complete and utter affection towards him, he does love and care for her. For even a blind man could see that he does love her.
Mike let's himself fall into her embrace, getting a sigh of joy from Roman who, as he calls it, "ships" the two kids together. I on the other hand want their friendship to stay and last forever, so Alani has someone besides Roman and I to talk to.
For friendships can last a lifetime.
Although Roman does have a good point, which does make me think about stuffing their friendship and wanting them to get married. But hey, they're young, give it a few years.
"Don't worry, Mi, things like that happen frequently than what is to be expected." Alani says as she brushes his reddish brown hair out of his face. Mike just nods and shifts away from her embrace as he starts turning his fork into his noodles.
"Sorry for the depressing topic, everyone." He says, trying to lighten the mood, as we all smile and start eating our noodles. Roman switches the volume up on the TV, as everyone digs in and relaxes after the interesting news we heard.
"Um... is it the right time to tell you that I met a guy last night."
All eyes stop watching the TV and onto the Korean man with his mouth full to the top with noodles and chicken. I drop my noodled plate onto the table and ask the question that everyone is thinking.
"What?"
"Good, you're interested, right... I met this cute guy, called Hyun-Shik-"
"A Korean guy?" Mike asks in a confused voice as Alani puts a hand over his mouth to keep him quiet.
Seriously Mike, Roman is a socially awkward fella, if he meets someone it is big news. For I remember him back in high school, trust me when I say this, he was worse at speaking to people than myself trying to keep or get a committed boyfriend for a week.
"Yes, oddly enough. Anyway, his name is Hyun-Shik, he's really cute and funny. Has dark hair and very dark brown eyes. Like, oh my god, dream worthy eyes." He says flipping his chopstick hands about, making my heart burst with happiness for him, as he describes his man.
"He just recently moved to the UK, so his English isn't up to your snobby British potential." His words causing us all to gasp as he holds up his hand to continue his story.
"We're Welsh!" We all say together, not sure if we should be proud of it, as Roman flicks us away with a wobbly wave.
"So you say... anyway, it wasn't a problem that he couldn't, cause we talked in Korean the whole time." He exclaims while shoving noodles into his awaiting mouth. "We talked about ourselves, our main topic being about me, obviously. Oh, we also confirmed that we were both single," winking in my direction, getting his message of 'I am so making this guy mine'.
