Alani races around the apartment searching and whinging about where her nice sparkly pumps would be, as I casually sit cross legged waiting patently for my sister to hurry up with her fussing.
"Alani, you've had your five minutes now, it's time to go or else we'll be late." I shout out as I hear a loud moaning sigh flow from her bedroom. "Just wear your normal shoes."
"No! You said it's a posh place, which I need to look pretty for! So I have to look stunning or else I'm going to look like an absolute fool!" She shouts out as the sound of things being thrown and shoved surrounds my apartment.
"Nothing out of the ordinary then." I say quietly to myself, hoping she didn't hear as I snicker lightly at my own joke.
'You're so rude!"
A female voice screams in my head, causing me to gasp at how loud the voice was. I'm about to apologise when Alani let's out a screech, making me jump up from the couch and look into her room.
I lift an eyebrow at the site of Alani holding up a pair of pink sparkly pumps in her hands kissing them with pure relief. "Pure beauty!"
"Great... can we go now." I say as she quickly puts them on her feet and follows me out of the door. We quickly rush out of the apartment building, into the cold afternoons windy embrace and head towards my newly fixed car, a mint coloured fiat 500, slipping in easily and starting the engine.
"Where are we going exactly?" Alani asks as she starts to rummage through the thirty odd CD cases in the glove compartment.
"We're going to the Plazhaved." I say as I start driving us onto the main road.
Alani picks out a CD case, opening it and placing the CD into my stereo as she looks up at me. "That fancy restaurant that does really good roast dinners?"
"That's the one!" I say with a sarcastic tone, causing Alani to roll her eyes dramatically. Disney music floods my ear drums as I concentrate on the road ahead.
"And at last I see the light, and its like the sky is new..." I roll my eyes at Alani's emotional Tangled solo as she scrunches her hands into fists as she tries to hold onto a long note.
"Hey, here's an idea, why don't you let the DVD sing by itself." I mention which causes Alani to stop and look at me with wide eyes.
"Why would I do that? It needs support." She says innocently.
My eyebrows furrow on their own at her come back. "Why would an audio song need help?"
"It could be scared to sing in front of us, so I'm helping it out."
"I think you've helped it enough now, so let it sing on its own." I say as I turn us down a narrow road. Alani stays silent for a solid minute before rejoining the music after it turns onto a new song from my favourite Disney movie, The Little Mermaid.
"Ariel, listen to me! The human world is a mess... but life under the sea-!"
"Alani, I'm going to say this the nicest way possible... zip your lips, before I flip my shit!" I say breathing in a deep breath, which causes Alani to do as she's told, and click on a button for the windows to go down.
Hopefully letting all my jitters and sisterly anger flow out before we get to the dinner party.

Both Alani and I climb out of the car, with me locking it, as we head towards the fancy restaurant. Alani skips her way towards the open doors as a light drizzle of rain starts to make its way down on us.
Typical British weather, and my straight hair!
"You know, I may skip the whole main course and go straight for the pudding," Alani randomly says while we take off our coats for the waiting boy by the drinks bar to take. "I'm thinking of having a Lemon Cheesecake!"
