Sasha

I woke up with a major headache but I felt so safe and warm. I felt strong arms wrapped around me and I smiled. The smell of fruit and flowers told me whose arms I was in. I nuzzled her neck and heard her slightly moan and yawn. I smiled up at her.

S: Thanks Shay
Shay: (kisses her forehead) No problem love. Are you hungry? Sammy made soup and it's some of the best you'll ever taste
S: Actually, that sounds really good
Shay: I'll go heat it up and make us some toast

I decided to go and brush my teeth. When I made it downstairs, Shay's pouring the soup into bowls. There's buttered toast on a plate sitting in the middle of our plates and there's also fresh fruit chopped into a salad.

S: This looks delicious Shay
Shay: Eat up and talk to me!

I sighed before sitting in my seat. I didn't really want to talk about it. Because of all the emotions I felt, embarrassment stuck out the most. The fact that I blamed my weight gain and appearance for Hudson messing around. If I hadn't gained so many pounds maybe-

Shay: Sasha?

I looked up at her and her big brown eyes made my heart melt. My God, there's nothing greater than her eyes. They're the best thing ever. I sighed knowing she wasn't letting me off the hook. Shay is very persistent at times.

S: I was scrolling g through Twitter and saw some pictures of Hudson with another woman
Shay: And you know this is his fuck up right and not yours right?
S: (sighs) Shay
Shay: I'm serious Sasha. I'm tired of you blaming yourself for the shit that he does. He doesn't deserve you
S: He's been here Shay. Longer than any other guy has
Shay: So what? Just because he's here doesn't mean he deserves to be
S: I just need to lose weight
Shay: God Sasha! And then what, huh? He'll still be an ass
S: You don't know him like I do Shay. He's... a good guy

I got up and walked over to the coffee maker, needing something to do so I didn't feel so exposed to Shay. I put the beans in the maker and put in a fresh filter. I heard Shay sigh.

Shay: I'll help you
S: (turns around) What?
Shay: Your weight gain. I know that it bothers you. Not that I think anything is wrong with you but... I know that it will help you feel better. So I want to help you
S: (huge smile/dimples showing) Wow. Really? You'd do that for me?
Shay: (smiling) I'd do anything to make you happy

I walked up to her and hugged her. She's amazing. My weight has been a sore spot for me for the past two years. I just didn't feel my confident self anymore and I didn't know what to do. The doctors told me a strict diet and working out were detrimental in controlling my condition but it could be so hard at times. But with someone like Shay, maybe it wouldn't be so hard.

I turned my head to say something to her and realized just how close our faces were. If either of us leaned forward just a little, our lips would meet. We ended up staring into each other's eyes but I heard the front door unlock. We pulled away quickly and Hudson suddenly appeared.

H: Oh thank God! Sasha, I was worried sick! Oh... hi Shay
Shay: Hudson
Hudson: Babe, I'm so sorry. You know how I am after a few drinks. It meant nothing

I looked awkwardly at Shay and she looked at me. She gave me a sad smile before pointing up stairs.

Shay: Uh, Sasha. I just texted Sammy and she's on her way. I'm just going to get my things ready
S: Okay. Do you need anything?
Shay: Uh, no. I think I'm okay

She patted my shoulder as she walked by me to go up the stairs. I waited until I heard her feet go up the stairs. I looked over at Hudson and saw him looking at me like a lost puppy. I tried to avoid crying but the tears sprung up in my eyes anyway.

S: (whispering) Why?
H: Sash, you know how I get when I've been drinking
S: Exactly! So why continue to drink?!
H: I was having a good time. My boys were there! It was just a good time, nothing else
S: But why do you feel the need to be with other women?
H: That was just that one time! I haven't slipped up like that in a while!
S: Are you fuckin-
Shay: Uh, sorry to interrupt. Sammy's here
