Emma's P.O.V

Picking Violet up from her crib she starts to stir from here sleep and cry obviously not happy about being disturbed from her sleep. I didn't want to wake her  up but I got a call from the studio saying that I'm needed because someone wants to discuss a deal on one of my paintings. Attempting to quiet down Violets wails while also trying to grab the diaper bag and the car keys all at the same time.

Times like these I'm ready to crawl into my bed and let the blankets consume me as one of their own. I almost make it to the car when something starts to stink. Violet. Great. Just great this is the last thing I need. Unlocking the car I throw the diaper bag into the passenger side seat I grab a fresh diaper, baby wipes, and Violets toy to keep her quiet.

Laying her down in the backseat I pull of her grey leggings off and dispose of the dirty diaper. Cleaning her up and putting on a fresh diaper I put her in her car seat and buckle her up. I cover her in a velvet soft blanket since its guaranteed thats she'll fall asleep. Getting in the drivers seat I crank the car up. Lullaby music starts to play softly but I'm quick to shut it off. I swear if I hear any soft music I'm positive I'll pass out. Backing out of the drive way the sound of rain drops hitting the wind shield startles me. I was so caught up in trying to rush to work I didn't notice gloomy grey clouds gathering in the sky.

Pulling into the studios parking lot I don't see very many cars but that's usual. Parking in the closest parking space to the door I shut the car off. I wait for a minute to see if the rain would slow down a bit so we don't get entirely soaked but it kept relentlessly beating down. Counting to three in my head I grab the diaper bag, unlock the doors and rush out. Opening the back door I start to fumble with car seat buckles. Why do they have to make these things so damn hard. Finally unbuckling Violet I pull her out and rest her on my hip. Slamming the door closed I sprint to the front door.

Getting into the studio the cold air sends a chill down my spine making goosebumps rise apon my damp skin. I can't imagine how cold Violet is her small body doesn't produce much body heat. Walking over to the front desk I can feel the water slosh in my shoes every time I apply pressure.

"Hey can you let the clients know that I'll be right with them, I'll just be a minute."

"I sure can ma'am."

"Thank you."

Walking to the ladies bathroom I go in the handicap stall and lay Violet down on the baby changing table. Carefully pulling off her soaking wet clothes I replace them with new clean ones. Taking a look in the mirror I can't help but grimace my hair is drenched and all clumped together matted, as raindrops delicately fell off. The rain drops glistened in my hair giving the illusion of diamonds. My clothes looked terrible too. You can see where the wet spots are as the fabric is darker where the water had soaked into the cloth.

Looking back as Violet her hair is slick with water too. She looks around the stall with wonder in her eyes. Almost as if she sensed me looking at her she looks right into my eyes. A cute little smile spreads across her chubby face but interrupted by a yawn. "Come on little one let's lay you down so you can finish your nap."

I exit the bathroom with a very exhausted Violet's laying her head on my shoulder. Opening the nursery I don't bother turning the lights on as I walk over to the crib and gently lay her down. With final kiss on her fore head I walk out and into my office.

When I walk in I see two men sitting in the chairs in front of my desk. They both have dark brown slicked back hair. However one has deep brown eyes and the other soft green eyes. They both look like they jumped right out of a magazine. "Hi I'm Emma Hurst the artist, how may I help you today?"

"Well hello Ms.Hurst I'm John and he's Matt we are interested in a peice of your work for out mother."

"Oh then what might you be interested in."

"We are interested in buying your painting 'the forest' I think its called."

"Ah yes, one of my newer works. This painting is priced at five thousand but since its for your mother I'll bring it down to three thousand."

"Thank you so much."

"Its no problem at all I just have some paper work for you to sign and your painting should be waiting out in the lobby for you."

After a long fifteen minutes of signing papers I send them on their way. Resting my head on the desk the dull pain in my head has now grown into a sharp pain. Frantically looking through my desk for some type of pain reliever I'm left to find absolutely nothing. I'm ready to scream out of frustration. So far my day has been absolute crap. I don't think that it can get any worse.

Violet interrupts my thinking as she makes sure everyone can hear that she's awake. Walking out of my office I walk right next door. Violets ear piercing screams could be heard a mile away. Picking her up I cradle her in my arms and whisper soothing words to her. Letting Violet feed once again all I can do is wait for her to finish.

Saying goodbye to the receptionist I walk out the door and I'm met with the pooring rain once again. Looking up at the sky all that can be seen for miles are the dark and gloomy  clouds. I've always loved the rain. I don't like to be rained on but watching it is one of my favorite things. Pressing the unlock button on my keys I yet again run to the car.

Violet seems to be enjoying herself because she can't stop giggling. Setting her fragile body into the car seat I look down and the sight makes me want to cry. I'm met with two sky blue eyes her father has the same eyes. Right now I could careless about being soaked head to toe all that mattered is my baby girl.

Hopping into the drivers seat my stomach growls like an angry grizzly bear. "Do you want to go to the diner for lunch we can see grandpa Bill?"
I'm answered with her bubbly giggles. I'll take that as a yes.

Pulling Violet out of the car seat and resting her on my hip she is already squirming to get out of my hold. Bill is the owner of the diner he's also one of Violet's favorite people. He's like a grandpa to her, they both adore each other.

The smell of hamburgers surround us and my mouth waters even more.
"Emma and Violet how are my favorite girls!"

"Hey Bill Violet has been missing her grandpa lately"

"Well come here Darling."

Violet doesn't think twice before jumping into his arms. Just the sight of them could even make a cold hearted person melt. "Alright babygirl let grandpa do his job."
He hands me back Violet and goes to make our lunch. We're regulars here. Walking over to a booth I'm met with two familiar Crystal blue eyes and my heart plummets to the ground.

I know I'm sorry for leaving you on a cliff hanger but I have to do it to make the story line flow. Should I include Mace's P.O.V? I think I will what do y'all think?
Love all y'all beautiful people.

                          Sincerely, the author
