why did this take so weirdly long??? I have no idea. Really unrelated, but i have ideas for a probably shitty spin off starring nome other than Bryce and Tyler, mostly because I'm bad at subplot and the subplot has more plot twists than the actual story in my opinion.
Also, take the picture enclosed with this chapter. You're welcome.

Luke feels honored that he's able to do this today. He's dressed himself up real nice, with his best pair of shoes, hair fixed and styled to perfection, his favorite red v-neck on and a nice fitting pair of jeans, clean and lint free. He's fresh out of the shower too, with some sweet-ass cologne on and breath minty fresh from his toothpaste. Luke even slipped on his pair of sunglasses too, just for that added effect of "I'm cool and you should date me."
God, Luke is so ready for this shit. The world better watch out, because the one and only Luke Patterson is on his way to steal a certain cutie's heart.
(Or, at the very least, he's on his way to try and steal his heart. Luke's trying his damned best, if you haven't noticed yet.)
He pulls up to Ryan's house at exactly 4:33 pm, twelve minutes before he said he would arrive to take Ryan out. Luke feels surprisingly nervous, having to take a moment to compose himself and relax. He never did think that he would end up here, you know? Walking up to the house of his (hopefully) future husband with flowers in his hand and his heart on his sleeve... It's a terrifyingly exciting experience. Though, he is worrying a little.
Does he look nice? Is his car clean enough? What if Ry doesn't like Italian food? Will Jon try to crash their date like he always does? Or maybe Bryce's advice was completely wrong and roses are not something you should bring on the first date. God, there are so many things that can go wrong here!
To make things better, when he knocks on the door, he's met face to face with Ryan's father. And oh, boy, is this gonna be awkward.
"Um.... Hello sir," Luke says awkwardly. It's not like they've never met before, but it's still an awkward situation nonetheless. What else does he say? Hello sir, I'm the fuckboy your son's somehow interested in and am wondering if he's dressed and ready to go out on the best damn date my broke, flat lil' ass can afford.
Yeah... that's not a very efficient way of talking to this guy. Luke is thankful for Ryan stumbling into the room with zero warning, hair messy and no pants on his legs. "Dad, have you seen my jeans?! I had them in the...." Ryan's voice trails off as he looks at Luke, now noticing him.
Luke has to hold back a laugh as Ryan's face slowly flushes red. He's waiting for Ryan to say something.
"LUKE! What the fuck are you doing here so early?! G- go away!" Ryan screeches loudly as he throws a shirt at Luke, who can no longer hold in his laugher and begins to laugh loudly at his appearance.
Ryan's reaction makes Luke laugh harder. He covers his legs with a pillow (as if that'll do anything) and turns to his father. "Nice legs, Ryan," Luke can't help but tease.
"Dad! Make hi- make him go away! I'm not even dressed!"
Ryan's father chuckles. He shakes his head, gently tossing the shirt back at Ryan. "You go get dressed. At least your date's more punctual than you are."
Ryan scurries off, grumbling to himself, leaving Luke alone with his dad. Luke looks up at him, feeling hesitant.
"Why don't we sit down and have a little chat while we wait for him? He'll be a while," the man says with a chuckle. He sits on the couch and gestures to the big leather chair off to the side.
