It was August when I met you.  At the fair.  I didn't even know what I was doing there.  I didn't know anyone.  If it wasn't for my mother forcing the whole family to come, I probably would've been home unpacking or sleeping or doing anything than that.  You know, I'm not sure if I hate her for dragging me there or love her it.  It's such a bittersweet feeling.  Thinking about you that is.  I love the memories but hate that we may never get that back. Fuck, that probably hurt the worst.

That day it was so hot.  I was just in jean shorts and a t shirt.  When looking around, I saw girls with their friends all dressed cute while they sweat off their makeup thinking that this moment in their life was going to be the most influential ever.  I hated girls like that and you knew it too. The type of girls that never realized that there was something so much greater than their recent high school heartbreak.

I met you by the bathrooms.  I felt so stupid, I was just waiting for my little brother to get out of the bathroom, and you approached me.  You were such a hot shot.

I lifted the collar of my shirt to wipe off some sweat from my forehead.

"I don't think it would be this hot out here if it wasn't for you," a nasal voice said behind me.

I still remember you're shaggy brown hair.  You were wearing a maroon v-neck and khaki shorts.  I remember it like yesterday.

"Can I help you?" I shot back at him.

"Hey now, I was just giving you a compliment.  There is no need to form an attitude with me," he frowned.

I don't want to admit it, but this shaggy haired douche is kind of cute.

"Look, little miss attitude, I'm having a get together tonight.  You should come," he gave a cheeky grin

"But, I don't-"

"Give me your phone," he demanded.

I pulled it out of my pocket but I continued to protest, "I don't even know your name."

"Clyde.  My name's Clyde Donovan," he grinned like a child.

I couldn't help but smile back as I unlocked my phone for him to put him information in.
