*Your P.O.V.*
I had a stupid cold, and my mother was freaking out since it hadn't got any better in the last two weeks. So, here I sat alone in the doctor waiting room since it was serious enough to send me to the doctors but not quite serious enough to give up her own schedule to come with me.
"Yeah, I have a physical scheduled," an all too familiar voice said.
I looked up to see the heartbreaker himself. Clyde.
He turned around and looked at me. His face instantly lit up and he smiled with a small wave.
Please for the love of God don't sit here-
"Hey (Y/N), how was your summer?" he asked with his old cheeky smile.
"It good. I haven't seen you around lately," I commented.
His signature grin faded. "Yeah, haven't been out much, I guess."
"Clyde, why are you talking to me?" I asked, trying to get the elephant in the room established.
"I dunno, guess I just wanted to see how you were. I haven't heard much about you from anyone," he replied.
"Well, I try to do things that will keep my name out of other's mouths," I told him. "Unlike you. Why haven't I heard a lot about you? I believe you said something about not being out much?"
"Um...yeah, I really haven't. I've spent a lot of my summer on counseling," he slowly admitted. "You know to cope with my mother's death... and letting my emotions get out of hand to the point I abused you."
I felt my body freeze.
He actually did something about it?
"I know it sounds lame, but we both know that I needed help that neither you or my father could give me," he paused, staring at me, probably noticing the shock on my face. "Look (Y/N), I don't want you to think I'm telling you this because I'm trying to trick you into getting back together with me. I just want you to know that I'm better, and I'm so sorry. There isn't a single thing I could possibly do to make it up to you, and I don't want you back because of that reason. You deserve a guy who would give you his whole world, not a guy who tears down your world to build his."
"Clyde, I-"
"(Y/N), I mean that, and I'm okay. I really wasn't at first, but I am now." He gave a reassuring smile.
"But, Clyde, you did the only thing I could think that would fix this," I said in a low voice. "Look, I'm such an idiot, and I will forgive anyone for just about anything, especially you. But, I'm praying to God, you won't make me look like an idiot for forgiving you this time."
His face lit up. "Please tell me this means what I think it does?"
"Clyde Donovan, you're a piece of shit, but I'm madly in love with you," I replied, with a grin.
He held my face before giving me a gentle kiss only to have an awkward cough interrupt us.
"Miss (L/N), the doctor will see you now," the nurse said.
I gave him a soft smile before getting up to go to the back.
"Hey, after this we're gonna pick you up some soup and watch movies, yeah?" He asked, his face filled with the smile that made me forget that I as even sick in the first place.
"Yeah, I'd love that." I grinned.
