Detention

It was the next day from when we spray painted the school and I was on my way to the very place for the annual weekend detention.  I got the slip to go to detention on Thursday because I spit gum at some kid because he was being annoying, I didn't realize that the teacher was watching me so when i turned around Ms. White was right in front of me waving the pink slip right in my face.  I snatched it out of her hand and sunk into my desk.  Just another ordinary Saturday for me.  

I made it to the building and I opened the doors, they were unlocked.  I walked into the classroom where usually detention is taken place and I sat down in the back and slouched in the seat.  No one was there yet so I must have been early.  After a couple of minutes of just sitting there and doing nothing I sat up and walked out to the hallway and looked around, no one was in sight.  I stood there for a little bit until I heard a wind kind of noise.  I followed the noise into the gym.  I swung open the doors and I saw Finn, he was spray painting around what me and Noah did.  Once he heard the door shut he spun around and saw me.  He put down the spray can and smiled.

"Oh hey y/n" Finn said to you.

I slowly walked up to him with a confused look "Hey?..."

I looked at the wall and studied what Finn had put he watched me patiently as I looked.  Finn had drawn a pattern around my lines and made them cover the whole lion.  I looked at him surprised.

"You didn't finish and you left your spray cans here" Finn said with a smile holding up the can of black paint.

"Not bad for a Soc, but you better leave your gonna get caught" You said while back away from him towards the door but he followed you.

"What about you, you'll get in trouble too" Finn said not wanting to leave.

"Oh Finn I'm already in trouble and if your here with me you will get in trouble and everyone will know" i don't know why I cared so much.  I usually would just walk away without a care in the world, but Finn was different.  I wanted to protect him.

"I don't care" Finn said puffing up his chest to look strong.

I chuckled and opened the gym doors to see Ms White standing in front of us with an angry yet surprised face.

"Mr Wolfhard what are you doing" Ms White said while putting her hands on her hips.

"er uh eh" Finn stuttered but couldn't think of an excuse.

Ms White pushed me out of the way to see why we were in there when she caught sight of the vandalism she gasped and turned to both of us.

"Both of you detention!" She pointed to outside.

Finn and I turned around and headed to the classroom.  Once we got there I sat in the middle and Finn followed sitting next to me.

Ms White shortly came in and sat at her desk began to lecture us.

"You two should be ashamed of yourself disrespecting the school like that and I would expect this from ms l/n but you! Mr Wolfhard?! what has gotten into you....." That's as much as I heard before I drifted off into my own world. 

 I looked over at Finn and he was looking forward stiff as a board.  I felt bad for him, this was probably his first detention and it was my fault

wait no it wasn't

He did it himself

I don't like him

Right?

After an hour of just sitting there in silence Ms White finally let us go.  We both walked towards the exit.  When we got to the door Finn stopped and I did the same and looked up at him.

"Well um I better get going" Finn said rubbing the back of his neck.

"...Okay..?" I said acting like i didn't care.

Finn looked a little hurt but at the moment I didn't care.  I didn't care how he felt, I knew that's not how I felt but I couldn't help myself he was a Soc, he was in the group that jumped Noah Millie and I.  i felt a rage of hate go through my body as I thought of that moment and I then didn't think about my feelings for Finn.  he was a stupid Soc, and I hated him.

Finn stared at me and I just rolled my eyes and walked out of the building.  When i stepped outside I saw Noah and Millie in Millie's dads truck waiting outside.  Noah was in the back and I hopped in next to him.  Noah signaled Millie to drive.  she turned on the gas and we drove away leaving Finn at the school.
