Everyone was eager to finish dinner and race upstairs to learn more of the mysterious Katerina. Hermione had written a list during the day of what they knew and questions that they needed to know. None of them dared to ask Sirius who Katerina was as the entire day he looked as if he had climbed out the depths of hell.
Sirius sat at the end of the table, moving his food with his fork to give the illusion he was eating the home cooked meal. His hair was a mess, sticking out as if he was struck by lightning many times. His eyes were bloodshot and dark rings surrounded his eyes from the lack of sleep.
Mrs Weasley had told everyone throughout the day to keep any noise level down. No one knew what she meant until Sirius had stumbled into the dining room for dinner. It was the first time anyone had seen him during the day.
When the children had finished, they placed their dishes in the sink to be washed and ran upstairs to the girl's room. The twins locked the door while Hermione pulled out the chest to unlock it with Sirius's ring.
She took out the diary and continued to where they left of. "I begged my Father to let me invite Sirius Black, but he insisted it was a family only dinner. I didn't understand why he wouldn't let Sirius come, I mean he is a Black isn't he? They are also blood purists and are highly respected. Not as much as us though,"
"She sounds stuck up, oh Merlin it is another Malfoy," whined Ron
"You heard what Sirius said, 'keep an open mind,'" said Harry. "After all it is clear that she was brought up that way,"
"I know but if I have sit every night listening to blood purity beliefs I'm out,"
"Ron just listen," said Ginny, "Sirius asked us to do this for a reason. Even if Katerina was a blood purist she would have let it go. It is clear that she was close to Sirius,"
"He was a Gryffindor," cheered George
"He was a prankster. Always trust a prankster," added Fred
"Don't know about that last statement," said Hermione wearily, "but I agree. Sirius and Katerina would not have been close for her to leave all this for him, if she was a blood purist,"
"Continue Hermione," said Harry, "what else does it say?"
Hermione flipped to the new entry and read out loud, "I did it, I actually made Father invite Sirius, well the whole Black family actually. But that doesn't matter I get to see Sirius again!
I twirl in front of the mirror in a pink dress with black lace over the bodice and a puffy black skirt that stops just above the knee. I wear my black ballet flats that are covered in sequins and sparkle with each step.
"Are you ready darling?" My Mother says sweetly from the door. She wears a dark plum gown with a halter neck. She wears a long necklace with large diamond that rests on her stomach with matching earrings. Her silver heels make her taller -even though she doesn't need to wear heels - and her long blonde hair is in a tight bun on the back of her head with a few strands framing her face. She looks so very regal.
"Almost Mother, I have to do my hair," I say as I walk over to my vanity. Mother follows me and brushes my blonde hair. She puts the brush down and braids my hair into a crown on the top of my head which she then ties to the back of my hair in a loose bun.
"There you go, all done," Mother smiles as she leans down and kisses my hair. "Now we must hurry, everyone will be arriving soon, especially the Black family,"
"I know I can't wait!" I jump of the stool and turn to Mother
"Sirius is coming," Mother smirks. To my dismay, a blush creeps up to my cheeks. Mother lifts my chin up and frowns at me. "No blushing, we do not blush,"
