Chapter 21

I grimaced. "What do you mean by killing them and how are you in the king body."

"Oh, little child. You have no idea how many sacrifices I have to make in order to attain this power. This power I sought over for over a century. The voices that you are hearing are merely the mermaids I've killed to gain this power using this king body and to complete it I need a demon child blood. Meaning you'll do finely in completing my powers. I have to thank Leah for giving me this opportunity chance. Also, her blood was delicious," she said licking her lips.

My heart was filled with hate and bloodlust. "You're sick. How did you end up in the king's body."

"I hated Leah for her beauty and ordered the guards to kill her. Afterwards were furious and killed me in killing an innocent girl in public, but thanks to the demon blood in Leah body I move my soul into the king's body to secure my position as the queen of the mermaids or even better the king," she laughed.

"You're sick!" I said disgustedly. 

"Oh, not when you have gained tremendous power, dear."

Kill me.

Kill me. 

Ariadne, my dear, kill me. 

Aria, kill me.

Child of six, six, six kill me.

This sounds like the voice of the king, and another Aria this was only my biological mother would call me. Are they telling me to kill the queen?

The blood of the mermaids are special by drinking them the Queen figured out that she could gain all of the mermaids powers, but also absorbs the soul of the others into the body. So all the soul of the mermaids are inside of her body unable to be freed and the same goes for me and your father.

The king?

Yes, the king. Please Aria, my daughter free us. Allow our souls to be freed from this body and go through reincarnation. 

Tears flow through my eyes, but I looked at the Queen and tried to control her blood. It did not succeed. She just laughs off like a maniac, but suddenly all laughing came to a stop and she was paralyzed I looked at my back. Alex, she was using some of her powers. 

"Go now, love, become the new Queen."

The queen eyes looked at me with horror and let my nails become longer and sharp. I slice through her neck as blood spills down from the neck and was suffocating as Alex released her magic. All souls came out in a white circle shape and I looked at them there were millions of them and one of them could be the king and my mother. 

Alex stood in front of them. "I am Death. Follow me and you shall reach your destination." All the spirits gather around Alex, and she looked back at me. "You have done well, Ariadne," she smiled. "I guess this is where we part ways. I become Death and you a Queen."

"Don't we have a chance though?" I questioned.

"If you're willing to wait. There may be a chance."

"I'll always wait. I will wait for you forever."

"I, Lucifer, shall promise I will return and make you my bride."

My heart skips a beat. I smile and wave my hand goodbye. She smiles and didn't said a goodbye and disappears.  As proof that the king was possessed by the Queen, I showed them the king mark on his chest of a star mark for a demonic possession. All the people came to believe but some still doesn't stand me for being a part demon to become their Queen.

Although, many things happen since I became a mermaid. Every day I do things for my people and make the best for mermaid kingdom to grow, but every day I waited in silence for my lover, Alex to come back to me.
