It is time to put a scary spin on an existing story from fairytales, mythology or folklore. Many are already infused with dark and supernatural elements. Now is the time to make one creepier, mash together ideas, and dial up the melodrama.

Hansel and Gretel did not drop breadcrumbs on their way through the forest. As zombies, they have little use for bread, they can just shake off bits of rotting flesh from their corpses to leave a trail.
Legend says King Arthur would rise from his long slumber when the people of Britain needed him. The land must be in great peril to have awoken the biggest, baddest, excalibur-wielding vampire in all the land.
A black cat crossing your path never caused you alarm. You never believed in old folklore and superstitions. You do now ... after you stepped on that grave.
