Lizzie's POV

I walked home from the beach, feeling somewhat sad for whatever reason. I trailed my feet behind me, leaving scuff marks on the soles. I didn't care at all. I had no idea what had come over me but I just felt low.

That night I ate little dinner, didn't reply to anyone's texts and went to bed early, hoping that I would feel better tomorrow.

I did. Marginally.

I lifted my spirits by going for a run through Beverly Hills which was so beautiful in the rising sun. I stopped at the same cute cafe that I had taken Daniel to months prior to today. I ordered a croissant to go and I ate it as I texted Jonah.

L - Hey, can I come over later today cos I'm not really feeling good.

J - If you're not feeling well then you should stay at home in bed.

L - No, not that kind of not feeling well, but I'm just not feeling that happy and I thought that seeing you five would cheer me up.

J - Yeah sure come at like 2 ok?

L - Perfect, see you then.

I had four hours to be there so I decided to get ready and then go onto my laptop to check out some possible universities because I wanted to get a maths and IT degree.

I found a couple which I pondered over and decided to start on my application. When I was around a third through writing I got a text from Jonah.

J - Hey, I'll be there in like 5 mins to pick you up ok?

L - Thanks see ya then.

Packing my bag as I went, I hurried downstairs and got some shoes on before Jonah arrived. I was sitting on the sofa as the door opened revealing a smiling Jonah with some weird looking sunglasses on.

"Why are you wearing those?" I asked as I got into the car.

"So no hi or anything? Just a question about my sunglasses choices then?" He replied

"Oh sorry brother Jonah, I am chuffed that you were able to meet my acquaintance." I said in my fanciest accent.

"Better." He said laughing.

We didn't talk for the rest of the journey but instead we sung along to the radio which I was crap at and Jonah was obviously amazing at.

On arrival at Jonah's home I once again marvelled in its glory. How could only five teenagers be so successful that they have their own beautiful house. I stumbled through the door as I was preoccupied by admiring the building.

"Woah, you gotta watch out there." Zach said chuckling as I tripped and knocked into him, almost sending us both toppling.

"Oh, sorry I was just admiring your house again" I responded apologetically.

"Nah don't worry and also Daniel is upstairs." Zach informed me with an exaggerated wink which made me cringe a little bit but also made me laugh at how his face scrunched up when he said that. I gave him a smile as I headed towards the stairs but I was surprised when a hand lightly took ahold of my arm.

"Be sensible," Jonah muttered into my ear "don't do anything stupid." Which ended in a really condescending tone. I rolled my eyes as Zach yelled to me.

"Second door on your left." I smiled at him as he disappeared from my view as I ventured further down the hallway.

I slowly rapped on  his door and waited for a response. The door swung open to reveal, not Daniel, but Jack standing there, his hair flattened onto his forehead. His face changed to a smile and pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around his back which I realised was bare, I looked down to see no top on his body. I let go as he started to speak to me.

"Hey Lizzie, what are you doing here?" he asked in a cheery tone, waiting for a response.

"Um, uh, hi, Jack. Just came so I could stop by ya know." I said awkwardly as I tried to divert my eyes away from below his neck. For some reason it felt wrong to look. He looked confused but he eventually caught on and went to put a top on as he told me that Daniel was still in the shower and that he would be out in a couple of minutes.

A fully clothed Jack came back to me and sat down next to me.

"You do know how much you mean to him, right?" he questioned, suddenly turning serious. I didn't really know how to respond to that. "Well ever since you left those months ago he has been stalking all your social media at least like three times a day. Yesterday he was literally so happy, happier than he's been in a few months. I just felt that you should know how much he likes you Lizzie." He looked right into my eyes as if he was trying to tell my heart everything that he had told my face. I was touched by Jack's little speech and smiled warmly thinking about seeing that smiling Daniel yesterday.

"Thank you for telling me this Jack, you're such an amazing friend." I stated, looking at one of my best friends.

"Well, I will try to always be there for you." he reassured me as I pulled him into another hug.

"I mean to Daniel." I whispered to him.

Whilst smiling he left the room, which left me sitting on his bed, listening to the calming noise of water hitting the floor of the shower. I turned my head towards the door when I heard the water stop and the shower door close. A minute later a partially wet Daniel walked through the door, surprised to see me, and I was surprised that he didn't have a top on either. Seriously, do none of these boys wear shirts as they leave the shower? Well I wasn't complaining that I got to see Daniel's abs occasionally have a droplet of water falling onto the next one.

"Lizzie." he walked over to me and held me in his tight embrace, resting his chin on my shoulder. I smiled into his neck as his body heat made me feel safe and warm in his embrace.

We talked for a while longer and shared a few kisses but before we knew it Corbyn called to us that lunch was ready and boy, was I hungry. I stared to walk to the door when I remembered something.

"Wait." I half-yelled, startling Daniel. "You need a top on." He looked at me smug.

"I don't need one, the boys have all seen me without one on." he mentioned, walking confidently past me.

"Yeah but Jonah doesn't know I have." I laughed at him which made him stop in his tracks, turn on his heels and walk towards his wardrobe.

"You are correct there." He said, his words were muffled as he tried to talk with a t-shirt over his face. "Let's go then." strutting past me once again as I laughed at him, trying to make himself look cool  after he just 'strutted his stuff'.

"Let's go." I repeated him as I grabbed onto his hand and heading towards the commotion in the kitchen.
