Chapter 19. The Monster Is Unleashed

Lizzie's POV

It's been a week since Daniel and I started being boyfriend and girlfriend and I have to say, I love it. We've been meeting up more frequently and we've made some amazing memories but we have only told a few people, Jonah not being one of them.
Today I told myself that I would tell Jonah but I knew that he would get really annoyed about it but I still don't know why.

I was watching the TV in the morning with Poppy when I got a text from Daniel.

1 new message from Daniel❣️

D - Hey I'll be there in about 10 mins ok xx
L - That's great. I'll try to make sure he's calm xx

As if on cue I watched as Jonah came through the front door and flopped down on the sofa.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" He mumbled into a cushion, "And why couldn't you've told me on text?"

"I'll tell you in a bit because the thing I need to talk to you about isn't here yet." I said.

"Ugh. Fine, what we watching?" He asked, sitting up.

"Phineas and Ferb." I replied casually.

"Phineas and Ferb? That programs for kids." He stared at me. "What episode is this?" He asked in disbelief.

"Christmas edition!" I yelled enthusiastically.

He literally face plamed. "Liz, it's June."

"So?" I asked sassily.

He was about to answer as the doorbell dinged. Jonah went to the entrance, curious at the interruption to our conversation.

"Oh hey man, what you doing here?" I heard Jonah ask Daniel.

"Can you both come here please." I yelled to  both of them. They both hurried in as Daniel sat beside me on the sofa and Jonah relaxed into the armchair but I knew that he wouldn't be relaxing for long.

"So, Jonah." I addressed him, "You know the thing I wanted to talk to you about. Well I, or we, can now tell you." I looked away from his curious eyes as Daniel took ahold of my hand. Jonah spotted this act and gave one raised eyebrow and a cold expression.

"So well we are kinda like going out." Daniel piped up, not looking into Jonah's eyes.

"Well, it's a bit obvious. I know that you two are dating so if that's all your going to tell me then I'm going to make a bagel." He explained, getting out of his seat.

"No, Jonah I mean like he's my boyfriend." I said to him which resulted in him falling back into the chair in utter shock. Eventually, Jonah lifted up his hand and pointed a shaky, pale finger in between Daniels eyes.

"You. You." He muttered right in Daniels face. "I told you but noooo, you just had to. I talked to you about this, explained it all to you but of course you will do it your own way and not listen to me. And you." He started, turning towards me. "I thought that I gave you a lot of reasons why this is bad, how he could leave you at any day, but you had to go running around with him behind my back." He turned back to Daniel at this point, "Why did you ask her huh, to make me mad? To make me-"

"I didn't ask her though." Daniel started to protest.

"Don't lie, I knew that you of all people wouldn't be able to be only her friend, I knew that you asked her so don't lie to me." Jonah's eyes had grown stone cold.

"He's not lying Jonah," I yelled at him, "I asked him to be my boyfriend." I admitted.

His stony glare had returned back to me as he headed for the door. "I'm done here." The door slammed behind him. I looked at the ground as a pair of warm, strong arms wrapped around me, pulling me into an embrace.

"Don't worry, you've got me." He smiled at me, kissing my cheek. "I'm here."

A/N- sorry for the shorter update, I'm tired but I figured that a shorter chapter was better than no chapter.
