Lunch Time. Aerie told to Maddie what happened earlier in the morning when Jhaye invited her to the school’s rooftop.

“Do you think it’s a confession?” Maddie said. Aerie almost choked a piece of her chocolate cake, good thing she didn’t.

“Please quit it. I- We’re eating.”Aerie said. Maddie giggled. They took a bite on their meals. Maddie is the only non-exorcist who knew Aerie’s secret. She trusts her truly because Maddie doesn’t spread or told her secret to anyone.

“You know he tried to kill me on the first day here.” Aerie continued.

“Oh. Right.” Maddie paused then she remembered something. “Oh! Right!” Aerie blinked. Maddie pulled out the latest school newspaper, folded in half and handed it over to her.

“Here! I forgot to give it to you yesterday since you disappeared quickly after class.” Maddie said.

“Thanks!” Aerie opened the newspaper which revealed the front page. And she saw…

“Why is my face in here without my permission?” Aerie sounded annoyed.

…a close-up picture of her printed on the front page smiling while she hugged some of her books with Zach on the side. And with the title headline: “Gossip: Is the New Girl going out with the Prince? And could she be the new Princess?”

“He-he?” Maddie laughed weakly.

“That’s why people kept staring at me this morning. Eh?” Aerie shot Maddie with her murderous looking eyes. Though Maddie tried to not look at her so she looked at her lunch but seconds later she took a peek at her and she was shot (not literally) by Aerie’s eyes. She was startled a little. Aerie calmed herself down and turned the paper on page 2 to read the article about her:

“Rumors have been spreading all over the academy that, for the first time, the “Prince” has been going out with the newly transferred girl, Aerie Godspell. Some her classmate said that she is very nice, active at sports. She is always with the Prince and Newspaper club president, Madison Proudmoore. Madison said that they are just childhood friends and nothing more than that.

Could she be the new Princess of the academy? The poll “Can she be the new Princess?” that we spread mostly said “Yes” especially from the boys who answered the poll. Now, could our “current” Princess would still had her throne or will Aerie steal it from her. Answers from Aerie Godspell herself will be revealed next Monday on the next issue of The Chronicles of Saint Marionette!”

Aerie has been silent for minutes after she read the short article. She finished her cake; her fork she used was in her hands.

“Please don’t take it personally, on me especially.” Maddie explained. “I had no choice to make it a headline since many requested it to me.”

“Even your crush right?” Aerie said without lifting her head nor took a peek on her. Maddie gulped.

“How do you know I got a crush?” Maddie was curious. She hasn’t told her about it. She slipped.

“Gotcha!” Aerie snickered. Maddie gulped. She forgot Aerie did this to her years ago. Reversal is what Aerie called it. Aerie laughed.

“Oh! Don’t worry I won’t take it personally.” Aerie said. “I knew someone is stalking me except for my brother…Speaking of my brother, he took my skull” She pouted.

“Skull? The one I gave to you?”

“Yeah. He said that it’s my “punishment” because I left earlier the other day because of…” She paused because she felt that someone is listening to them just now and she felt the aura before when she first came here. “…y-you know.” She finished. The skull they’ve been talking is Maddie’s parting gift for Aerie few years ago.

“Oooh. And why did he choose to take away the skull?” Maddie understands the “you know” part. She knew the she went to the Head Quarters. Aerie told it to her the day after too.

“It was on the top of the fireplace. It was easy to get. But I know where he hid it. I’ll play along with him.”

They were about to leave the open air cafeteria but three girls blocked them. One girl with the uniform like theirs but with a initials A and M on the lower part of her skirt and 2 girls with the maid style uniform. It’s Abigale and her 2 maids.

“You’re Aerie Godspell, right?” Abigale said. Other students around them came closer and whispered to each other.

“Yes. And I think you’re the so-called “Princess” here right? Well, don’t worry I won’t steal your “throne”. You can have it, I don’t care about popularity.” Aerie said straight to the point.

“How did you--?!” Abigale felt she was back fired. She just answered the question that she will just throw at her.

“It’s very obvious. And that idiot and I are not going out for your information.” Aerie smiled at her. Some oooh’s and laughs were heard from the crowd. Then someone behind her back hit her lightly on the head with a newspaper.

“Who are you calling an idiot?” Zach said.

“You, of course! And you really are.” Aeries turned ninety degrees and tucked a little part of her tongue out. “Bleh! Haha!” Then she grabbed Maddie hand and ran past Abigale, completely ignored her. Zach chased them.

Just in time that the school’s bell rang. Everyone hurriedly left the open air cafeteria and went to their respective classrooms.

“You’ll pay, Aerie Godspell, you’ll pay for you did to me.” Abigale muttered and left the cafeteria as well along with her maids.

“Want your revenge? I’ll help you.” a male voice said. Then suddenly Abigale become alone and suddenly her surrounding became a pitch black and not a hint of sound except for her suddenly hard breathing.

“Where am I?! Who are you?!” shouted Abigale. Then a spotlight appeared meters away in front of her with boy wearing the SMA uniform. She can’t see his face.

Then he half-raised his right arm, his palm facing towards her. Abigale was became tensed. Then a glowing black “thing-y” came out of his hand and swallowed her. She screamed for help and mercy to him. Seconds later, she dropped on the floor and lost her consciousness. She had a visible dark aura. The boy laughed at her and looked at her.

It was Jhaye.

Aerie arrived in the classroom, she sensed something dangerous. Something’s wrong. She thought. Terribly wrong.
