Purgatory was the last place any creature wanted to be, it was the place the Almighty and The Order sent human spirits who were too dark to ever reach pure harmony inside themselves. This is also where The Order would send unstable angels. Angels who couldn't find some sense of peace within themselves, or they had an abundance of some very strong emotional tendencies. The Promised Land could not abide these unstable angels, it was our duty to find perfect peace within ourselves, and if they cannot do that then they must be cast out.

Illustra shuddered at the thought. It had always been one of her biggest nightmares to ever have been accused of being an unstable angel.

However, her tainted title may have been proving the worse option.

"Especially since it is not true." She tried to speak to herself with confidence.

The kiss flashed before her eyes.

She shook her head violently, trying to dislodge the memory manually out of her head.

There was a snap to her right, her head spun in that direction and she froze.

A small creature with the body proportions of a rabbit, the tail of raccoon, and the mouth of a hungry demon scurried past her feet. She jumped out of the way and took a few steps back. She breathed out a heavy sigh.

She did not want to meet with any unstable angels today. She was sure she could handle them, The Order generally believed them all to be very weak, because of their lack of harmony, but she was tired, and she knew they would recognize who she was the moment they met her. The Unstable did not like The Harmonious at all.

She trudged farther into the forest and skirted openings in the trees and paths that led anywhere too distinct. She needed to find a portal to earth, but she could not risk exposing herself, or meeting up with any permanent Purgatory dwellers. She could not afford another fight.

A few hours later she was stumbling up a large hill, she felt like she had been climbing for hours, but at the foot of the hill it looked to be an easy climb. Purgatory was not made to be easy and convenient though. She stopped and rested a hand on a tree, she was breathing heavily, but wanted to reserve her magic for an emergency.

She sat slowly and achingly onto a nearby boulder, and stretched out her muscles.

She had her back bent, one hand on her knee the other on the tree for support when she felt movement under her palm. Her body stiffened in fear as the palm on the tree slowly pulled away and her head slowly move upwards to try and see what she had been touching.

As soon as her hand lost contact with the tree a gaping hole appeared where it had been and teeth sneered out at her. It pushed itself toward her still slightly stretched appendage and tried to snap it between its jaws.

She threw herself backwards and clapped a hand over her mouth, realizing belated that the ear piercing noise she had heard moments ago was her, and she had cut off her scream not soon enough.

She stumbled backwards trying to gather herself, to center herself, but she was failing, her heart was beating a mile a minute and she couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't even near safe, despite the snapping tree still stuck to its spot through its roots.

She took a few steps back and hit something squishy and warm. It was large and malleable, and enveloped her easily.

She pulled herself out with great effort and spun around, her back now to the snapping tree, as she faced a Gargant. The large troll looking creature was easily more than twice her size, his belly fitting almost her whole body. He had rough thick skin, and large sausage fingers attached to a mixture of deadly muscle and excess fat.
