Connor awoke early to hear his mobile phone going off, he growled and looked at the time, it was only seven in the morning...a Saturday morning!

He reached over to his bedside table and grabbed his phone and seen the number, he glanced over at Adelaide who was still sound asleep and wondered why her dad was phoning him. "Hello?" he said curiously and heard a deep sigh coming from the other end "Mr Williams" Connor spoke again to try to break the silence "I told you last night to call me Peter" he groaned "We need to speak to both of you as soon as possible...its very important" Peter spoke firmly and waited for Connor's response.

Connor sat there stumped as to what it could be but shrugged "We can come over this morning if that's soon enough?" Connor spoke quietly so not to wake Adelaide and when Peter agreed he finished the call and lay down again but he was now fully awake.

He huffed and gently pulled himself out of bed and went downstairs to put the kettle on, Ryan was due to come this afternoon, now with having to visit her parents there wasn't much alone time for just them. He made two coffees and some toast, put it on a tray and headed back upstairs.

Adelaide felt a strange feeling and as she turned over it was clear why, Connor wasn't lying beside her but his indent from the mattress confirmed that he had just got up so she just rolled back over onto her back and stared at the high ceiling, the ceiling was adorned by a very ornate crystal chandelier that would make the Queen jealous, she noticed that there wasn't even a spec of dust on it. She had found out his secret as to how this place stayed so spotless.

Earlier that week she had got up rather late as she had been throwing up all morning and had crawled back into bed, she heard the bedroom door open and instantly a waft of scent hit her that wasn't Connor but from a female, her mind got the better of her and she jumped out of bed and held the women up against the door by her neck "Who the hell are you?" she had snarled as she took in the pretty blonde before her in a rather short maids outfit "Oh...I'm so sorry" was all she could say as her face heated with embarrassment as she realised that she was holding a duster and a can of pledge.

Adelaide smiled as she remembered Connors face when she told him that she nearly ripped her head off for being in their room, he looked as though he was just done for cheating and that he always kept this place tidy until she arrived. She should have noticed sooner why all the clothes that she normally left on the bathroom floor in the morning ended up washed, ironed and lay folded neatly on the bed when she came in. She was thankful that the cleaner actually found it funny...afterwards!

The door opened and Connor returned to see that she was awake and he smiled, he didn't actually have any inclination to drink his coffee hot as he seen a knowing twinkle in her eye 'perfect' he grinned as he tore his boxers off and jumped back into bed.

An hour and a half later, they were back in the car on their way back to the village "Any idea why?" Adelaide asked for the umpteenth time and for the umpteenth time Connor replied "Nope" she just sighed and looked out of the window "Maybe they have ideas for the wedding?" she suggested but Connor shook his head, her dad said it was urgent, this was something more serious than what sort of flowers to pick.

They drove up and parked outside the house and noticed no curtain twitching from her mum, this made them both very nervous. Peter had opened the door before Connor had a chance to knock "Thanks for coming" he sighed and the both noticed the dark bags under his eyes and how pale he looked "Is it mum?" Adelaide whispered before noticing the same look on her mum's face who was sitting in the living room with red eyes from crying.

"What's going on?" Connor spoke up just feeling the need to get to the bottom of it quickly before it stressed Adelaide, "I think you both better sit down" Peter said before clearing his throat, he waited till both of them had sat down before he glanced at his wife who gave him a week smile.
