riley: your eyelids fluttered open, and you realized it was still dark outside. praying silently that it was later than you thought, you rolled over to look at the clock. realizing it was 2 in the morning, you groaned internally. you hadn't gotten good sleep all week. figuring that you were up, and could do something productive, you began to slip quietly out from under riley's arm.

"no," you hear from him. looking at him, you saw that he was still asleep, and began to get up again.

"no!" he groaned, his grip tightening around your waist. "don't leave me, (y/n).  you can never leave me."

you giggled lightly. "i have to get up, riley."

"no!" he whined. "don't leave me.  i'm worthy!"

"riley!" you exclaimed, shaking him awake. "riley!"

"huh?  what?" he sat up groggily. "oh, hey, (y/n).  what are you doing awake?"

"couldn't sleep," you replied.  "you were talking about me."

"i was?"

"yeah.  i tried to get up, and you said something along the lines of, 'don't ever leave me, i'm not worthy.'"

"oh," he flushed lightly.  "yeah, that."

"you don't ever have to worry about that, riley," you said.  "i love you."

he grinned.  "i love you too.  now, let's go back to sleep?"

you agreed, snuggling in his arms and drifting back into a peaceful slumber.

braiden: "i love that movie," you said, as the ending credits of titanic came onto the screen.  "see, braiden, i told you it was good..."  looking over at your boyfriend, you saw that he had fallen asleep.  "guess you wouldn't know," you said, chuckling lightly.  you couldn't really blame him; it was a three hour movie.  just as you got up to take the movie out of the dvd player, you heard him mumble something softly.

"what?" you asked, thinking he was awake.  looking at him, you really saw that he was still asleep.  shrugging, you started to get up again, but he spoke, louder this time.

"i love you, (y/n)," he mumbled, which made you smile.  you left the movie, stroking a piece of hair from his forehead tenderly.

"i love you too, braiden," you replied, even though he couldn't hear you.

"marry me," he mumbled.  you froze.  no, this couldn't be.  he was dead asleep.  it wasn't a real proposal.

"you don't know what you're talking about," you replied, laughing a little, trying to keep your tone light.

"marry me," he repeated, before his head lolled and he began to snore softly.   you tried to shake it off, while you went and got the movie, putting it away, but you couldn't.  it had sounded so real, but you knew it was too good to be true.

"hey, sorry about that."  you turned to see him, coming from the living room into your kitchen, where you'd decided to make a cup of tea.  "i didn't mean to fall asleep, i swear."

"it's alright," you replied.  "did you know that you talk in your sleep?"

"i do?" he asked, coming and sitting at the counter.  "what was i talking about?"

"me," you replied.

"what did i say?"

"you...you asked me to marry you," you replied, not meeting his gaze.  braiden just laughed.

"well that blew my cover," he said.  you looked at him funny.

"i'm not following."

"i was going to save this for when we went out tonight, but..."  he pulled a small velvet box out of his pocket, opening it.  "i guess the cat's out of the bag."
