Another week later: August...One week before start of semester

"I'll stay if you want ya know," he laughs, looking down at you. You smile glancing at the backpack over his back. He's playing with his keys, twirling the ring over his index finger.

"Nah, I'll be fine. Besides, you haven't seen them in two months due from the trip to LA," you convince him. You were lying, wanting him to stay because you hated being home alone. But you didn't want to be his burden to babysit, he deserves to see his family.

Simon tilted his head at you, leaning in closer, narrowing his eyes.

"Your lying," he whispers. Your eyes widen as you blush due to his close proximity.

"Uh-I-I'm mmm, I-"

"It's fine, I'll stay," he says, pulling out his phone and pulling up his contacts as he made his way back up stairs.

"Hey, mum. I'll come next week, yeah. Friend of mine here is sick, I don't wanna leave her alone," you hear. He opens his door and spcloses it shortly afterward.

"No mum, she really is sick , I swear," he laughs as he comes back down the stairs. He throws and arm over your shoulder and walks with you into the kitchen.

"Uh, she's got a 101.4, checked right before I called you," he says shrugging his shoulders.

"No, we didn't get flu shots," he rolls his eyes. "I know I'm sorry," he laughs.

"Okay mum, I will, bye," he pauses. "I love you too, mum, bye," he says smiling. You sit at the kitchen table as he puts his phone in his pocket.

"How about fajitas for dinner?" He asks, turning on the cooker.

"Hell yeah, want help?" You ask going to the fridge.

-----------------------

Sitting up in your bed, you looked around right he dark room. You put you've hands to the stchines delicately. You didn't know why, just to make sure they were there maybe. The boy cosurce of light was the tv on the wall. Blinking a bit, you pulled your knee to your chest.

Was that a dream?

It felt real, it felt deja vu.

Was it even a dream?

If it was a dream, then it was the night you almost died.

If it was a memory that meant...

You gasp, the first noise your made that hasn't really hurt you.

It meant Simon was home, when...

You felt tears come to your eyes. He was home, he was home the whole time, but didn't come to your rescue when you needed him most. Angry because he is the reason you can't speak. He is the reason your a freak now and get weird looks in public. You didn't care about image before, now, you see your neck and people draw too much attention towards you. It was all his fault. You cry silently into your knees, your hair falling over you legs in a comforting blanket.

But just when you thought your sobs were quiet...

"Y/n?" You snap your head up at his voice, glaring at him as he head peaked its way around the door. The hallway lights were off, so it didn't lit your room up any.

"Are you alright?" You glare at him as he opens the door a bit wider, you were staring to hear your name paired with those words a lot lately. It started to annoy you...
