~Your pov.~

I read through the notebook, and saw the games of noughts and crosses me and Laurence played as well as doodles of each other with silly annotations.

The warmth of the pages still lingered, but I couldn't savour the moment any longer. My stop had arrived.

After handing the driver his pay, I swung open the car door, which opened to a small snowwy town. My feet sunk into the snow with a crunch, but even after a rough car journey I didn't feel any relief. I'd rather have stayed longer in the rattly car -that shook violently whenever it when over a small imperfection of the rode.

I was here for him... The dirty blue haired psychopath, who refused to leave my life, and seemed to ruin every moment of happiness I was given and appear again and again. It was a hopeless cycle of events I never seemed to escape...

SLAM

The sound of me shutting the door was uneasy and I felt as if there would be no escape when the car zoomed away. I'd gathered my bags with my neccasary items, that may make eveything feel a little better... Probably not.

The pure white snow was drowned by the darkness of the night, and the trees twisted and turned like stitching. Besides the accasional lamp post, there was little light. The shadows mimicked a supposedly warm blanket as they wrapped over me, but I was cold and felt sick to the stomach.

2:44... AM

I'm ealry, maybe I should- ring ring - nevermind... Guess he knows I've already arrived. I quickly answered the phone and started walking towards -what I assumed was- the street path. Thick snow covered the entire area so it was uncertain to know whether or not I was walking in the woods or town.

"How was your ride?" He asked. I didn't answer. "Just stay in that area I'll get someone to collect you." The call ended.

I leaned against a lone tree next to a store of some sort, skimming through the notifications I had gotten on my phone. Youtube, youtube again, wattpad, so many notifications...

A message from Laurence a few hours ago:
'Ruben told me you went on a small trip? Why didn't you invite me! Haha, joking. I hope you have fun! :) I'm already missing you~'

I sent back a 'thanks' and waited for it to send... jeez how bad is the signal here? How the heck was Ein able to make a call? I pondered and stood staring at the message.

'Miss stay still-' I heard a sudden voice from the darkness. My eyes darted up looking through the darkness- looking for someone who managed to sound so close but yet my sight failed to find anyone.

Cold hands. A flash of green.

Dry dirt peaceful glided through the air and stuck to our sweaty faces and clothes; this was both inconvenient and ironic at the time. Whilst we had dove behind a few rusty barrels in the rush of getting away from the police, the surrounding area had still managed to be relaxed.

The echoing of police sirens was still close and our loud panting could be heard. Gene's and Ein's tall figures rested opposite me. They watched out for police, whilst I watched the quick contractions of their chests. This had gotten ridiculous tiring, as people came more aware of the presence of thief's. The police had now become on higher alert, but this was still just a normal day to me.

What was Ein expecting to gain from all the resources we stole? That didn't matter to neither me of Gene. Just the profit we got from a bit of running and researching. I was our tracker, I got the dirty details and knew the layout of buildings better than my own home.

I also managed to figure out the nasty back story of businesses and people -good people- to use as blackmail. I didn't blackmail people. That was more Gene's thing whilst I got him the information. I tracked futher than some government documents could by being in the right place at the right time or by my observations and weeks worth of research.

We keep this part of us private. No one else knows what really happened, some people knew we worked together. They assumed it had been to steal a few items from a shop accasionly. A chocolate bar or two, but no we stole much more valuable items and committed many other crimes. We agreed not to tell out friends, and Ein agreed to not tell anyone if we kept things private and agreed to work with him.

Ein never requested us to do anything to bad, I'm getting paid for it so I don't really care. A lot of extra change is helpful whilst in highschool, makes all the ditching classes and getting detentions worth while.

It'd been 10 minutes of waiting now. 'We should leave this way through the back of this field, but it's quite open so we can only take a bit of cover. Dont try to draw attention to us. Be casual...' gene sighed lightly and pointed to the direction.

Gene pulled his hood up whilst me and Ein dusted ouself's off. Gene was our get away in most situations, since he was a fast thinker and knew a lot of different areas, so we were quick to follow his lead. A slight crouch became a normal walk as we got away from the police.

'Good work today.' Ein smirked and wrapped his arm around me, but patted Gene's shoulder. 'I'll get your money once were out of the police zone.' Ein chucked and tightened his grip on me. He had now taken the lead, and spoke quietly whilst smiling oddly. Gene made a 'tut' sounds whilst Ein brushed it off and focused on me.

It went silent as we cauciously stepped through the field. The silence slightly broke when gene lit a lighter for his cigarette and started to drain his life force, taking deep breaths of the substance. He walked a few meters behind us.

'Disgusting human' I heard Ein mumble, then he chirped up with 'you'd recon we'd be a cute couple?' Before I even got to speak he replied to himself 'No? Me neither, your hybrid is quite horrid and I'd rather avoid it, but you've also gotten Jeffory already right?' He chuckled again.

I yanked his arm of me, then stopped a bit to walk with Gene. I didn't want to retort to much, he still owes me money, I can't take the risk of loosing that yet. Gene slightly nodded at me as I walked next to him and he puffed out a cloud of smoke. Even that was far nicer than getting insulted.

This will stop soon there's no need to worry...
