Another statistic part 2

Makenzie and I were on our way to  my best friends baby shower . It was more of a gender reveal also . Makenzie said it was a girl so she wanted to wear pink and I chose blue . I packed up her to go bag of necessities and we headed to the car . Once I sat her in her car seat making sure she was buckled in I got in and started the car . During the ride I nervously tapped the wheel . Chanel didn't tell me Kenzie father was going to be there  until this morning . I haven't seen him in so long i don't know how to feel about this . If she wasn't my best friend - you know what it's whatever at this point . I'm done with him anyways  , all my feelings left for him a long time ago .  After the 20 minute car ride we pulled up to her house and parked , Kenzie immediately hopped out and ran to hug her god parents . I grabbed the gifts out of the back seat and walked towards them .
"Hey boo " . I sad kissing her Check .
"Hey baby momma ". She said smiling .
" I don't get no love ?" Her husband Odell who is also my brother said pouting .
I rolled my eyes then gave him a big hug " conversations work on both ends ". I said mugging him .
"Anyways y'all go ahead inside and eat , you know my momma in there thinking she can discipline somebody else kids ". Chanel said rolling her eyes .
"Don't talk about momma Karen like that ". I said hitting her arm.
"Dang you hit like a man". She said rubbing her arm .
I walked into the house sitting the presents down under the table holding the cake .i turned bumping into somebody almost falling over. I looked up to see Rakim . My breath hitches , I haven't seen him in years . I tried to step around him but he blocked me from walking any further .
"Move Rakim ". I said barely audible .
" can I just talk to you real quick ". He said looking down at me .
" you got 5 minutes". I said following him out onto the back balcony .
I sat in one of the chairs looking out at the children playing by the pool. He sat next to me a little too close for my liking .
" so how you been ?. Where my daughter at ". He asked . I looked like he was crazy .
" Well "YOUR "daughter is playing by the pool ". I said putting quotations on your .
" don't act like that you know I never meant to hurt you like I did ". He said .
" you knew what you were doing , you only was worried about yourself and your needs . I was going through a lot during that pregnancy . I ended  up losing the love of my life because he want to be going out every night acting like he ain't have a girl at home . Makenzie been asking about you for as long as she could talk . I didn't want to break her heart , so I lied every time she asked me about you  I lied telling her about how great you where". I shook my head tears brimming my eyes.
I felt him pull my small frame into him i had no energy to refrain . I did miss being in his arms , it brought back memories good and bad. If I let him in again who says he changed .
