I sat in my room doing homework and on face time with my friend Delilah. As usual she was telling me about problems she was having with her boyfriend or whatever she wants to call him. They always arguing and it's like i'm always stuck in between the two because as he said Delilah tells their business too much. Me and Delilah met in the beginning of middle school and have been attached at the hip ever since. We are now 11th graders, and I honestly cant wait to leave that vile school.
If you are wondering who I am, because all you know about me is my first name. Well i'm Maia Marie Cole. I'm 18 years young and i go to West Campus High school . I'm hoping to go to UCLA once I graduate. I have three siblings a older brother, and 2 sisters who are right behind me in age. I live in the quiet outskirts of California with my siblings and parents.
" sis , I heard there is a new boy coming to the school"Delilah said. " okay and? You got a boyfriend . I said rolling my eyes . " shut up I was telling you so you can check him out". She said mugging me . I finished up my homework and sat my books on my dresser. "Yeah welllll I'm not looking for a relationship and you know that. I said scrolling through Instagram on my IPad. I seen her look up at the camera and shake her head. " Maia really its been 2 years when are you going to let him go?"she asked . I sighed and squinted my eyes at the screen. " just because he's gone doesn't mean I'm going to forget about him . I'm just not ready yet " " He died for gods sake . It wasn't your fault, you keep blaming yourself and it's not going to bring him back. A drunk driver killed him not the argument y'all had before he left your house . If you don't let it go your going to be stuck in a sunken place forever . Get out live a little you know I only want what's best for you ". She said . " ......I'm gonna go shower ,I'll talk to you later"I sighed. " So are you gonna talk to H- " I hung up before she could finish. She will never understand . I got up to take a shower. After showering I ate dinner with the fam and hit my bed hard. ¥ Next Morning ¥ After showering I got dressed and proceeded to make my way out the door after eating breakfast of course . I hopped in my car and made my way to school . Usually I would pick Delilah up but her mans picking her up today. Pulling up to the school I got out and greeted people walking by . Since I'm the class president I've made a lot of friends. Walking to the main office I waved to my favorite office assistant Ms. Crawley . " honey come here real quick ". She said. "Yes ?". I asked as I walked over . " This is August the new kid here and I need you to show him around ". She said . "Sure I guess I could do that". I said he looked at me and licked his lips . I almost passed out . Not gonna lie he is nice to the eye. " let's get going ". I said leaving the office he followed behind me . "Welcome to West Campus High School home of the Warriors". I said putting on my signature smile. " you don't have ta act so propa' ma".he said.
"I'm not acting august this is how i talk".I said rolling my eyes, something i have a habit of doing.
"whatever, well hea is my schedule ".he said passing it to me. I looked through it noticing we have almost all classes together with the exception of 2. We made our way to first period as I decided to ask him a question I've been dying to ask since he started to talk.
"where are you from originally?". I asked
"New Awlins"he said. I turned to look at him like he was crazy.
"Come again?" i said making sure i heard him right.
" I said New Awlins my accent make it sound weird but you know what I mean". he said mugging me.
"I was about to say ain't you special".i said as he chuckled.
"Yeah right Ms.Jaylen you ain't all that bad once you open ya mouth". he said smirking.

" What's that suppose to mean ". I said confused.
"What I meant to say was you look a bit stuck up on the outside I know you got a chill side to you". he said .
" yeah okay whatever. well here is first period there is always a empty seat beside me if you wanna learn or there is seats in the back where all the kids who gonna be right here again in the same grade next year. you choose".I shrugged.
" how you gonna talk about them people like that in their face". he said as the students mugged at me and I rolled my eyes.
"At least I said it to their faces and not behind their backs". I said sitting down. He shook his head chuckling and sat next to me.
" Wassup new boy , you cute or whatever". the girl Ravyn said touching august shoulder. I almost threw up.
" Ew girl move ya nasty HIV fingers off his shoulder before he catch something from you". i said disgusted. August fake threw up then used a piece of paper from his desk to move her fingers without touching it.
She rolled her eyes pouted then walked away not before shooting daggers at me. Then her little boyfriend walked in and walked past my desk not before trying to "holla" at me.
"wassup ma when you gonna give me ya number?". he asked serious as a heart attack.
" boyyyyyyy if you don't... don't you got what she have..just nasty.I said turning in my seat. August looked at me and we bust out laughing.
" you a whole clown, imma' have to start hanging with you". August said after the laughing came to a end.
" Just wait until you meet my best friend we are a mess together i'm warning you now". I said as our teacher came in. He seems chill I guess we will see what the future may bring.
