Troye just sat there, still not being able to accept what had happened. He had only been here for less than a day, and something had already gone wrong.
As he lay back down on his bed, he began to think.
It wasn't fully his fault, was it? He was just trying to do something nice for Tyler, and it was obviously not appreciated.
After all, who had told Tyler to be so angry with the receptionists? He could have acted more politely, thought Troye, beginning to justify his actions in his mind.
Why had Tyler gotten so upset when he found out that they were sharing a room? Was he not comfortable with it? Did he not want to be that close?
Troye began to feel insecure as these thoughts flooded his mind, his inital anger turning to sadness. He knew they weren't dating, but..well, not exactly. The two of them did hang out, and went on a lot of so-called "dates," but it was not exactly official.
Troye had never even thought about asking Tyler to be his boyfriend, and was instead waiting to be asked. He had always envisioned Tyler asking him- maybe because he was older.
But what if the question never came? What if Tyler did not want to be more than close friends, and that was why he didn't want to share a room with Troye?
Even if Troye got tired of waiting, and asked Tyler out, who's to say he wouldn't be rejected?
As he pondered this thought, he came across a realization- as his usual self, he was simply was overthinking things.
Although Tyler was extremely friendly and outgoing, he did need to be alone sometimes. Maybe he wasn't quite comfortable with this, and he didn't even have a say in this decision.
And even if Tyler asked him out, he wouldn't exactly be ready for such a serious relationship. Maybe the two were better just as "something-more-than-close-friends", or whatever relationship they currently had at the moment.
Tyler was justified in being angry-his privacy had been invaded, and he was probably tired from a long day of driving down to pick Troye up from the airport.
Troye began to feel ashamed of the whole occurence. He really deserved to get this treatment from Tyler, and knew he had to apologize. But, how?
Seeing Tyler's camera equipment through the corner of his eye, Troye knew exactly what he had to do.
