Meanwhile, Tyler had begun to cool down. He had grabbed a chocolate chip muffin and coffee for breakfast at the café down the street.
Now Tyler sat back in the hotel lobby, silently munching as he kept going over what had just happened. He was beginning to feel a greater and greater sense of regret, as one question blazed his mind:
Why had he blown up at Troye?
After all, it had been his idea to call Troye over to California. As a host, he should have booked the hotel himself.
Instead, he had asked Troye to do so, and had gotten angry when it wasn't suited to his preferences.
Speaking of which... why had he become so upset? Reflecting back, Tyler didn't know what had come over him.
Sure, he would have liked having his own room, as he was still a bit shy and insecure. Although he liked Troye, there was still a big difference between hanging out a lot, and living together-even if it was only for a few days.
Tyler just wasn't ready for such a big step, or atleast what he considered to be a big step.
Well, Troye was obviously ready, so he had to be too, or pretend to be ready Troye's sake.
As Tyler finished up his breakfast, he stared at the pink paper bag beside him.
Absent mindedly, he had also picked up a couple of donuts for Troye.
Checking the time on his phone, Tyler was quick to realize that it had already been an hour since he had hastily left.
How could he have left Troye like that? It had been less than a day since he had got here, and had already been abandoned in the hotel room.
Grabbing Troye's donuts, Tyler managed to rush into the closing elevator in front of him.
Peeking through the sliding doors, he was able to catch a glimpse of the reception desk.
The reception desk! Tyler had forgotten to apologize to the receptionists. Tyler figured he'd worry about that another time, making sure to leave them a huge tip.
As people slowly began to leave the elevator, one floor at a time, he soon found himself alone.
As Tyler neared the floor of their hotel room, he glanced at the pink bag tightly clutched in his right hand, attempting to construct an apology.
