Today's the day! The day I get my surgery. I'll be able to live outside my bubble. Today's the day I'll have surgery to fix my Osteogenesis Imperfecta, or 'brittle bones.' Gene therapy, sounds scary right? They will be replacing the genetic disorder gene with a healthy gene, but that won't stop the already brittle bones I have. They will also be treating me in a liquid chemical bath and injecting the S52 serum into my bone marrow. The S52 serum has a protein enhancement so that will cause my bones to be strong. Oh ya did I mention I'm there first human test subject? What could go wrong?
My name is Ora Smith. I'm 17 and live in LA, California. I have hazel eyes and blonde hair. My parents are both nurses Samantha and Jason Smith and work for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where my surgery is taking place. For most my life I've been hom schooled due to my brittle bones. I've broken my bones more times than I could count. I've broken my arm hugging my mom, and I've broken my back bending down to pick something up, so you could call me crippled. I don't have any friends sadly, I don't count my nurses because they get paid to take care of me. My only true friends are in my comic books. So, hobbies, you could say I draw and read. I hope the surgery is a success.
*the operation doors open*
This is where my new life starts. This is the moment.
A/N: Hey guys it's me author. I'm going to be starting a new story. This story kinda reflects my actual life, and no, I'm not a superhero. I have a genetic disease called Fibrocarlageouse Dysplasia, where it replaces a healthy bone with a weaker bone. Luckily, it's just in my right arm. I've broken my arm more times than I've bothered to count. I picked an orange, served a flare volleyball, hugged my friend on the last day of school, ect. Also, the name Ora is my other name. I hope you enjoy the story.
