The future is worth it. All the pain. All the tears. The future is worth the fight.
- Martian ManhunterMy body, it's sore, and I can't open my eyes, I feel like my entire body was... shattered. The pain. I wish I could cry. Wait, I hear something...
"Scalpel." Some male with a wraspy voice said outloud.
"Scalpel." A female in reply, her voice sounded sweeter, but nervous.
Oh God! Am I having anesthesia awareness?! I AM AWAKE! Please stop! I tried shouting, to no avail.
I jumped up. The pain, all over my body. "Ahhhhh." I went to hug my body, but see my hands tied down. I looked over to see the TV turned onto some medical soap opera. Well I assumed that, as my vision was blurry.
"Hey sweety, how are you feeling?" Her voice... I know that voice. So pretty, loving, and soft. I looked over to see the blurry outline of a woman.
"Hey mom...." I somehow mustered out the words. I bit my tounge, because it felt like there was someone snapping my bones over and over again.
"Hey, my little light." Dad. There's no way I couldn't recognize that voice. His voice was buttery and silky. "I'm sorry they had to restrain you. They said you would be in a lot of pain." A tear went down my face as I was reminded. "They already have you on the highest amount of morphine, I'm so sorry if you're in pain. Also, I know you can't speak that well."
I tried mustering out words. The constant reminder of the pain. "It's worth it in the future." The pain was exhausting you. I can't keep my eyes open anymore my body, the pain. I closed my eyes and passed out. Everything was dark and cold.
* time skip*
My body feels numb. I know there is still the pain. It feels relaxing not feeling it. I can finnaly breath. I just want to sleep. I can hear the TV. Probably the only reason I'm still awake because I hear the news.
"This just in: Gladio is at the scene of the robbery." I opened my eyes still feeling weak but I had to watch. Gladio has been my hero ever since he put on the mask. The only thing I knew about him was he was intelligent, male, and hella hot; that's all anyone knew of him. He was also young, either still in highschool or recently graduated.
"Hey, little ligh,t how are you feeling?" I shushed my dad because I was interested in the TV. "I guess she's feeling well." With the laughter in his voice, but I didn't care; TV was on.
"Gladio has detained the robbers and all the hostages are running out." I was glued onto the TV, hoping we'd see him launch off using one of his tech gadgets, but there was nothing. No cool exits this time. There was a knock at the door and it opened to see Doctor Youlson.
"Hello Miss Smith, how are you feeling?" He takes my temperature by rubbing the thermometer on my forhead, and takes my blood pressure. Doctor Youlson was a sweet man in his 40s, and he's been my doctor for what seems my whole life, he good friends with my parents so I guess you could say he's like an uncle to me, and when he told us he was designing a treatment that could cure my disease, my parents and I took the opportunity, of course it took years for the tests to work on animals and for the FDA to approve of the treatment. Youlson had dark hair and was pretty handsome, and his eyes were a chocolatey brown, with a British accent.
"I'm doing better than the first time I woke up." I really was, but it was probably the morphine numbing my body.
"Good" he said with a gentle smile that you assumed in his voice. "Some things didn't go as planned in the surgery though." At thoses words I was panicing. Do I still have it? Will I still live in a bubble my whole life. "Only minor things: your hair changed colors, but we believe that may of just been a reaction to the bath and your eyes changed colors as well. Now, that was a shocker to us, as the animals experiments didn't have any if these symptoms."
What did he mean? I reached for my hair but then realised I was still restrained. "What color is my eyes and hair?" I looked at him worried it was some ugly color. Of course I could always dye my hair, but my eye that's a little harder if it's ugly.
He reached over to a mirror and showed me my face and hair, which was put up in a messy bun. My hair, which was previously a pretty blonde, was a white grey. My one eye was the same hazel, but the other one was bright blue, a blinding blue, if I could see it with this vision. He takes to mirror way from me because I had stared at it for a while.
"Are there any problems at all? Pain, vision blurred, loss of feeling in body parts?"
"My vision is very blurry, I can hardly make out your facial features, and my body feels numb but I did have feeling before, when I first woke."
"Your body is probably numb from the high amount of morphine we've given you, your vision on the other hand..." He pulled out a ophthalmoscope tool and that shined a bright light in my eye. He was checking for my dilation of my pupils. "Hm, that's a bit this concerning. It's seems the surgery caused your pupils to effect oddly. You may need glasses for a short while."
"Ha, I can be the real Kara Zor-El for a short while!"
"Who's that?" Doctor Youlson what I assumed to have a confused look on his face.
"Supergirl of course."
"Oh."
"She's really big on comic books and superheroes if you remeber the last time you were over she fangirling over Gladio." The sweet voice of mom said that completely embarrassed me.
"Ah I see now, we want you to stay here one more night in the hospital to make sure no symptoms that may come up." He was about to exist and let me sleep.
"Wait, how long was my surgery and how long have I've been alseep?"
"The surgery was 22 hours and you've been asleep for 3 days." He said while closing the door and leaving.
3 days, wow people have been in commas for less time than that.
"Ora you should get some sleep." Mom walked over untieing my straps and kissed my head. My eyes got heavy, it must be the morphine kicking in again. Tomarrow I can leave, hopefully no more bubble. I drift farther and farther into the darkness and finnaly I'm out like a light.
A/N: Hello author again. So I bet not alot of you know what a ophthalmoscope tool is...

That's an ophthalmoscope tool.
Also anesthesia awareness, also referred to as accidental awareness during general anaesthesia (AAGA) or unintended intra-operative awareness, is a potential complication occurring during general anesthesia where the intended state of complete unconsciousness is not maintained throughout the whole procedure. It can occur either because of failure to deliver sufficient anesthetic medication to the patient's body, or because of individual patient factors that mean the patient is resistant to what would normally be an adequate dose of anesthetic medication.
Blurred vision is also a common cause after a surgery. It can also be associated with decreased tear production in the eyesor swelling of the eye in patients lying on their stomach during surgery. ... In a study of 671 patients undergoing non-eye surgeries, about one in 25 patients reported a new onset of blurred vision lasting at least three days after surgery.
Now the two different colored eyes is not an acctaul thing that has happened as of yet. This is just part of the story.
Enough of my rambling thank you for reading!
