"Oh god, oh god." I whispered to myself as we pulled up to the police station where they were holding John and George. Paul, Pete and I had just drove here with John's car and I was starting to seriously worry about getting them out.

"Let's get this over with." Paul sighed stepping out from the car, seeming very distant and irritated. Pete and I followed suit, following Paul into the station. The lit up station lights brought out a sense of security in the pitch darkness of night although the situation inside awaiting us brought the beating of my heart to a halt. I felt pretty sobered up by the draining night and it was a good thing for the station would be crawling with officers waiting to arrest someone for public intoxication.

Paul mumbled incoherently to himself angrily
about the entire situation John and George had managed to get us into. It didn't help that George had been spilling his guts as he got arrested making him appear drunk out of his mind when in actuality he was sick as a dog.

As we walked in I noticed the station was practically a ghost town on a weeknight, the only people lucky enough to get arrested on a night like this seeming to be John and George.

I tensed up as I saw Minnie's father talking to John and George who were sitting on a bench in hand cuffs. How could I have forgotten about Minnie's Dad? Of course out of all nights to work he was in the station tonight, just my luck. When John's black eyes met us, relief washed over him as he relaxed his tensed shoulders.

Minnie's Dad looked over to us as well, raising his eyebrows as he saw me in surprise. I hung my head in shame as the three of us walked up to him. I was so busted, Minnie's Dad was bound to tell my uncle I had snuck out. I prayed to myself silently as we came to a halt I front of them.

"Poppy." He greeted me sternly making me jump and look up at him.

"Hello Mr. Taylor." I squeaked nervously. Paul looked back at me shocked and I managed to send him a weak smile feeling extremely nervous.

"May I talk to you? Alone?" He asked intimidatingly. I nodded meekly and followed him seeing the boy's expression all in bewilderment that the police chief knew me.

"Care to explain why you're hanging around those delinquents?" He scrunched his nose looking over at them in distaste. I winced and attempted to keep myself together. Mr. Taylor and I had always had a love hate relationship, he respected my uncle greatly and knew deep down I was a good person but always contemplated whether or not my intentions were always best. I was the one who was most likely taking the blame for Minnie's new boyfriend without even knowing it, me being the more outspoken and "out there" friend as Minnies Dad says.

"They're my uncle's clients, you know, he's their new manager and all, I-I'm so sorry, I really d-didn't," I could feel myself shaking out of nervousness as I spoke wide eyed. I looked at his calm expression and took a deep breath, blubbering like a child wouldn't get me anywhere with Minnie's father.

"Could you please let them go, for me Mr. Taylor, you'll never see them here again." I pleaded with puppy dog eyes seeing the solemn look plastered to his face.

He sighed scratching his neck, looking deep in thought as he looked around the ghost town of a police station with the occasional officer at a desk. I knew deep down he was a reasonable man, he'd been in his youth once too.

"I'll tell you what, I'll let them go this time, but if I see you or them here ever again, the bail will be costly and I will tell your uncle about tonight." He threatened in a fatherly way that I've only ever heard from my uncle before. I nodded frightened.

"Yes sir." I gulped and he nodded. With a heavy sigh, he walked over to the boys and began to uncuff them. My heart had been pounding furiously in my chest, I couldn't believe he had actually let them go, this had to have been for Minnie. If she were to found out he'd arrested the boys she would be furious at her father.
