I don't tell anyone about what Sesshomaru had said. It's been nearly a week and I'm still just as confused as ever. I don't know what I should do. I love InuYasha but... could it be possible that I love Sesshomaru too? I wish my mother were here...

"Hey space cadet, you okay?" InuYasha walks up, tearing me away from my thoughts. I shake my head and smile.

"Yeah, great. Sorry, I just kinda miss my mom is all." I look to the floor as we walk thinking she'd know what to do. Sesshomaru was there to pull me out of the gutter... a gutter InuYasha had dug. But I've always loved InuYasha. Could it be that I only think I like him because that's how I've always felt? Is it just residual? God, now I know how he felt with Kikyo. I'm once again torn from my thoughts when I feel heat and pressure against my hand. I look down and notice InuYasha's hand in mine. He squeezes once, reassuringly, also making me blush.

"I can take you home if you want." I shake my head. Smirking, I interlace my fingers with his.

"No, I want to stay a little while longer. This jewel thing is killing me, now I have to know!" He chuckles and rolls his eyes.

"My little thrill seeker. What am I going to do with you?" I shrug before looking at him. God he's gorgeous.

"Never leave me again?" I know I want InuYasha more than anything; without him, I became this cold, unfeeling person just going through the motions. Acting tough. I can't be that girl. Not again... but do I really want to be that dependent on someone? Sesshomaru encouraged me to express myself, a tad hypocritical coming from him, and did his best to keep me out of trouble. He laughs and throws his arm around my shoulders.

"I think I can work with that." I pretend to be offended.

"You think?" I pout a little, sneaking a sideways glance to see his reaction. He stumbles over his words, trying to come up with something to save himself and I can't help but laugh. He looks at me, dumbfounded, making me laugh more. "You should've seen your face! You really thought you were in serious trouble!" He narrows his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest. My laughter dies down to a chuckle. "Don't be such a sour puss." He continues sulking, so I sigh, rolling my eyes, and drop back to walk with Sesshomaru.

"It would appear my little brother has fallen prey to your theatrical skills." I smirk, proudly. "Well done." I look up to find him smirking at me. It's as close to a smile as he'll get with the others around. When he does smile though, it's enough to take any girl's breath away. I blush and look to the ground.

"So, what's with this jewel thing? Nobody will tell me." He looks straight ahead and I allow myself to look at him as we walk. His long, straight, white hair swishes around his knees with every step, looking very soft and touchable. His white v-neck shows off his toned arms and chest, even through the fabric, and his black jeans cover the tops of his red converse. He has a black leather jacket hooked on one claw, lazily thrown over his shoulder, looking very devil-may-care.

"Hnn." I roll my eyes and nudge him with my elbow.

"What? So you won't tell me either?" He looks at me out of the corner of his eye.

"I did not say that. I am simply debating on how to explain this to your fragile human mind." I hold up a clawed hand.

"Not entirely human anymore, remember?" He nods his head.

"Ah, yes, you have the hanyou's blood in you. That is... interesting." My brows furrow in confusion.

"How so?" He looks straight ahead.
