"Hey, are you alright? You look lost?" Jax came up beside me. I had moved into the living room and was sort of concerned about my previous conversation with Lex and Axel. I don't know if they're angry with me or not. Well, that's the least of my worries. I'm more concerned with what they're going to do if they find out about me working as a hacker. That I'm not so ready for. Either way it's not good for me. I can only just hope for the best and pray that Lex's brother isn't as knowledgeable as they're making him out to be.
"I'm fine, you don't need to worry about me." I told him in the hopes he won't bring it back up. He sat down beside me.
"I know something is bothering you by that look on your face, but I'm not going to push you to talk. I also know that it has to deal with Lex and Axel because I saw both of them walking down the hall with serious expressions. I only ever see Lex like that when he's all in on something."
"Is that a bad thing?" I asked.
"Depends."
"Depends on what?" I'm starting to get even more concerned.
"Well, did you piss him off or something?" He asked.
"I'm not sure... he might be, but I can't tell. He's hard to read."
"Yeah, he is sort of hard to read. He also doesn't show a lot of his emotions either, unless Axel or a camera is around. However, I can tell you this though. He's probably not that angry with you, that much I can tell from the years I've known him." Jax said as he stretches, the light from the window reflected onto his face. I took a breath in relief. It may not completely rid my problems, but it does make me worry a bit less.
"I hope that's the case." I said.
"Just don't worry too much, I'm sure everything's going to be fine and you'll be out of here in no time." Jax smiled and patted me on the back.
"Let's believe that that will happen." I replied back.
"Now, don't be getting down on me Emilee! Think positive! Here, why don't you drink something and take the edge off things, eh?" Jax nudged me with his elbow. I saw a gleam in his eye and I don't know if I should be scared or not.
"Are you asking me to get a drink?" I asked.
"Yeah I am, we have a bar in the party room of the house." Jax explains.
"Party room? What else do you guys have in this mansion?"
Jax laughs, "the real question should be what don't we have."
"Oh, quit with the flirting Jax. I'm sure Miss Princess here doesn't need that, she's got bigger things to worry about." Axel had walked back into the room from the right hand hallway.
"Axiee, I'm just trying to get her to calm down. I don't constantly have a romance button on. Although, I will say that Emilee is right up my alley." He laughed, his grin full of pure happiness.
Axel rolled his eyes, "for the last time, that's not my name." He takes a deep breath and sighs.
"So, what do you need anyways? Usually you're off doing something." Jax returned to his normal composure and asked him.
"I'm looking for my brother, have you seen him?"
"Yeah, he left a bit ago. He had a photoshoot scheduled, the King one."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that... I can just wait till he gets back then." Axel turns to go back down the hallway he came from previously.
"Okay, if he come back while I'm here I'll tell him you're looking for him." Jax tells him.
"Thanks, I'll be in the studio room then." Axel says as he disappears into the depths of the hallway.
"Well, he totally ignored your presence. However, I don't think he's that angry with you either. So, I think you'll be okay Emilee." Jax turned back to face me.
"I guess him giving me the cold shoulder is better than him criticizing me?"
Jax laughs, "Yeah, I would say so." I get up and stretch.
"I guess I'll go do attempt to find something productive to do for now." I said.
"Good luck with that, Axel will probably put it to an end it if you do something he doesn't approve of it."
I nod and wave to Jax as I go down the hall and he waved back. I actually feel a lot better about the situation with Axel and Lex after talking to Jax. I'm just still scared about tomorrow. I try to forget it as I walk down the hall.
