Logan Archer sat on a table with her best friend and the rest of her group of friends whilst her sister sat not too far from her.
The pool was warm which was pleasant as it was well into the afternoon and Liann needed some sort of happiness. The warm water was that happiness and although it was actually very sad she did not care, not when all she could think about was how she would rather be anywhere else but there at that awful drunken party. So she sat there with her cell phone in one hand and a red solo cup, filled with coke in the other. Liann would not make the mistake of parading around with alcohol tonight, not after last time's accident. The accident with the gorgeous stranger.
She wasn't a stranger per say, Liann knew her name she just didn't know anything else about the girl. She wished she did but how could she? Was the obvious solution to meet up with her? Would she go to the girl's school and look for her but what would her excuse be? That she wanted to see her beautiful face? That would be embarrassing even though it would be the truth, all Liann wanted to do was to see the perfect stranger. She wanted to see Jamie's skin, her captivating brown eyes that could only be described as burnt umber, her cute smile that was so bright she herself slightly closes her eyes and her lips, those lips that Liann knew she shouldn't and tried not to look at but always failed miserably and did it anyway.
It was crazy that Liann felt this way but she didn't know how not to. She would find herself thinking about the exquisite brunette at odd times during the day. Even now she didn't know why she was thinking of the beauty but it killed Liann to know that she loved it.
"People usually sit like this, with their feet dangling in a great body of water when they have better things to do, or have some awesome company beside them but I know for a fact I wasn't here until just now. So tell me pretty lady what's your excuse? "
The bold stranger invited himself to sit beside me and was followed by two companions.
"Oh my God Charlie leave her alone can't you see that she's busy? " The only girl of the trio scolded. I assumed that that the 'Charlie' she spoke of was the witty boy-man that sat beside me.
The younger looking boy however remained quiet whilst slowly pouring his drink into the pool. It seemed like fun, the way he seemed fascinated with what he was doing.
"Uh hi?"
I felt awkward which was normal but this was extra awkward. All three of the strangers laughed, it was as if they were in sync as they lightly chuckled.
"Hi I'm Joe,this is my older brother Charlie, " he was interrupted when the girl used her hand to cover his mouth and shoved him on his back so that he wasn't in the way when she stuck her hand out across her friends.
"Hey I'm Madison." she said as we shook hands.
"I'm Liann. I didn't bring a swim suit. "
They looked at me, confused by my statement.
"You asked what my excuse was for just sitting here. It's because I didn't bring a swim suit. "
Charlie raised an eyebrow.
"So you're saying that you would be swimming if you had brought a bikini? "
I took a swig of the cup that I'd placed beside me to shake Madison's hand. I wished at that moment that I was swallowing cheap beer instead of fizzlesss coke.
"No." I said with an embrassed smile. I wouldn't dare wear a bikini but he was right. I wouldn't wear any sort of swim suit infront of strangers.
"So what are you doing here? You look like you would rather be anywhere else. I don't blame you, I mean there is a table over there loaded with food and booze who would want to stay at a place like this. Parties, am I right?"
