The park looked eerie at night and the yellow glow it had because of the street lights didn't help.

I sat on a park bench with Charlie and Madison on either side of me waiting for Jamie who they said was on her way. I found it hard to believe that she would just agree to this madness, meeting a mere stranger and her friends or whatever these guys were to me in a park at eight o'clock at night. That is just the definition of shady.

"Stop freaking out Liann, "

Charlie looked to me and gave a huge grin that looked menacing in the yellow night light.

"She will be here, then you two can talk... Maybe do some other stuff too ya'know? "

I kicked his foot in response and Madison hit the back of his head too.
I didn't know what I was doing with Jamie at this point, I had no plan or idea of what to say or do, I was lost.

A car could be heard behind us. I turned to take a look at the car and it's driver but only saw headlights and what seemed to be a white Toyota.

"It has to be her, right?" Madison asked no one in particular.

Charlie got up, took a flashlight out of his pocket switched it on and went in the direction of the car, without saying a single word. I was afraid, no scratch that I was petrified. Did Jamie have a car? I remember her giving that rude guy at the party a ride home so maybe she does. Oh no that means it's probably her, now I'll have to talk to her. I hope she left her over protective brother at home.

I clenched my sweaty fists and took a deep breath.

Charlie emerged from the darkness and behind him Jamie floated effortlessly making her way in front of me.

"I'll leave you two to talk. "Maddy said in an awkward tone that really did not suit her.

Jamie however just stood there, staring at me. It was then that I realised that her skin looked great, even in the yellow night light. A strand of her hair fell in her face and I wanted nothing more than to just tuck it behind her ear. Jamie realised that I was looking at the misplaced hair and she quickly tucked it away.

Her hand met my shoulder and I let out a breath that I hadn't known I was holding.

"Are you... Okay? " she said with concern masking her face.

Of course I was. It was because I was in her presence, her warm, heart clenching presence that drew me in and suffocated my logical thoughts.

"Liann?" she said  as she stepped closer to me as if to clearly examine my expression.

"Hi... " I said, or rather squeaked.

"So she still speaks, " Jamie said with a genuine smile. It was as if her smile switched that rebellious strand of hair  into action and it resumed its rightful place, which was hanging in the brunette's face.

"You wanted to see me Liann? "

"Yeah... I-I uh wanted to see how fine you are, I mean I want to see how you are. Are you doing fine?"

"Okay Liann I'm good it's just that I'm kinda not up for this beating around the bush thing you've got us doing now. You like me right? "

Yes I do. I like you like I've liked no one else and I think it's because you're you. I want to hold your hand and touch your shiny hair and I want you to engulf me in your arms so that we'll see if my heart will implode.

"Like you? " I managed to to ask her but I was barely able to keep my nerves in check.

"Yes, like like, me. Do you have any romantic feelings towards me like maybe you want to rip my clothes off or you want to make out with me until we can't feel our lips? "

Oh shit. Everything she said made my  heart rattle my ribcage. Her questions engulfed my face in the heat of embarrassment.

I couldn't answer her and I most certainly couldn't answer her truthfully. All I managed to do was stare at her with my mouth agape and my face on fire.

"Oh geez, Liann just tell her the truth she'll understand, hell I think she'll even reciprocate your feelings! "

Charlie, Maddy and Joe sat on the bench we had earlier claimed as our own. Charlie however decided that he needed to voice his thoughts which made me want to lie down in the sand even more.

"You don't know do you? " she asked, it was dark but I could still see a twinkle in her eyes.

I opened my mouth to respond but a sharp intake of breathe was all I could muster when Jamie brought her face close to mine. In that moment my sight failed as my eyes closed and all I could do was feel. I felt her snake her fingers through my hair and gently hold it there as she brought her warm lips closer and closer to mine until all I could feel was her warm, soft lips spreading a sensation that reminded me of electricity through by body, running through every piece of my anatomy. She broke the kiss gasped for air and just like that the electricity left my lips and pooled in my chest instead.

"I do, " I said trying to sort through my thoughts."I like you and I love the way you just made me feel. " I looked at her and how she still couldn't breathe properly after she kissed me. It was as if she gave me the courage, which was apparently the thing I needed, to tell her what she deserved to know. That I liked her and wanted her.

She smiled again and the electricity returned to my body.

"Well then, we'll have to start doing this more often Handsy. "
