After my little visit with Bucky last night, I decided it was time I learned some more about him. I didn't want to bother Steve with it because I knew he had enough on his plate as it is. So I went to the only other person that would know Bucky. My grandpa, Stan. He's 95 but acts 20. He's incredible.

The minute he opened the door, I hugged and kissed him, making him grin as I felt a warm feeling rush through me. A homey feeling.

"Honey, you look like you've been through the ringer."I laughed once I gently patted him on the back, sighing slightly as we made our way into his living room. You're telling me.....

"I feel like it grandpa." He sat down in his chair as I sat opposite him on the couch, smiling a tad.

"I came over because I wanted to ask you about Bucky Barnes. Your friend from the war days." He got a thoughtful look on his face, grinning as he seemed to remember the times he had then. Some good. Some bad. But I do know he enjoyed them.

"Yes. James. He was a good soldier. And a good friend"I smiled, thinking of a time when Bucky was.. well, Bucky. Happy. He must have been amazing. Grandpa smiled a little as he noticed the look on my face, a little confused as to why I'm asking this anyway.

"Why do you take a interest in him?" I sighed a little just thinking about it. He won't even believe it....

"It's a long story. A very long one.." Grandpa sat back in his seat, laying his arms on the armrests, smiling as I chucked a little from the interest in his eyes. I can tell him anything and it would make me feel better about the situation.

"Ive got time honey. Trust me." So i told him what Hydra had done to Bucky, what they've been using him for. All the pain and suffering they've caused him..... And the most shocked look in the world crossed his face as his eyes widened.

"You're saying that James survived that fall??" I shook my head, still not even believing it myself. How he did is beyond me. But I'm really glad he did....

"Yes. And Hydra just took him and made him their master assassin..." Grandpa shook his head as anger filled his eyes, an unspoken emotion flashing crossing his face.

"We had a lot of problems with them. And they still rein terror. It isn't right." I agreed. These bastards have done so much damage. And they still are... and all to poor Bucky. And Steve. They're using him to get to Steve, make him come crumbling down.

Grandpa suddenly got a little grin on his lips as he seemed to be lost in thought, knowing that look all too well. His memory look.

"I remember James from our grade school days. He was always looking out for Steve. Real good guy." I looked at him, shocked. He knew him that long and didn't even bother telling me this?!

"You never said you knew him that long!" He smiled, shrugging his shoulders as he nodded, thinking still.

"Yeah. We were pretty good pals. We caused a lot of trouble together" I smiled, shaking my head with humor as I just envisioned the image.

"I can see that happening" He laughed, making me grin a little from all these different stories of Bucky.

"Bucky sounds amazing. Which makes it even harder seeing him this way. He doesn't deserve this.." Grandpa looked at me, a serious look flashing through his eyes.

"So i'm assuming you have run into him recently?" I shook my head, sighing as I thought about it and just how much it's impacting me and my job.

"Yes. Him and some of the Hydra soldiers chased us down. Later that same night he showed up at my apartment" Grandpas eyes narrowed, looking upset at my words as i sighed a little.

"He didn't touch you did he?!" I shook my head, smiling a little as he visibly relaxed.

"Only pinned me to the wall. Nothing I can't handle." He smiled, softly nodding his head as I grinned, perking up a little. I learned everything from this man right here on my job to be exact. I learned from the best.

'Oh! Before i go, do you have any pictures of Bucky i can use? I have an idea." Grandpa stood, smiling as he sent me a look clearly saying I didn't even have to ask.

"Sure." He went into his bedroom, coming back a few mintues later with some photos. One of Bucky in uniform. And a few more with Steve, Bucky and Grandpa. I grinned from happiness just seeing these beautiful photos....

"Thank you grandpa. I'll bring them back just as soon as I'm done." He shook his head as he wrapped my hands around the photos, smiling.

"You go ahead and keep them." I smiled as I stood from my seat, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you grandpa, I love you." He grinned, hugging back just as tight, making me feel that homey feeling once more.

"You're very welcome honey. I love you too." As I was walking out the door, he stopped me, a worried look on his face.

"Please be careful out there. Okay?" I grinned a little as I sent him a reassuring look.

"I will. Promise." He gave me a thumbs up as I continued out the door, smiling a little.

Sitting in my car, I kept looking at the photos of Bucky, slightly smiling. He looked so happy here. And his smile is beyond beautiful.
