Thank you, happy reading xx

Alfie Solomons noticed the shoes next to his door first before raising his head to see the beautiful brunette laying on his hotel bed. The room was small as it was, and her presence was always so big it made him feel trapped. She seemed to be way too occupied in her novel to notice him at all, a book with a green cover. It was his and he could cause it was Great Expectations by Charles dickens. After a while of standing and watching her without her acknowledging him, he cleared his throat and hit his cane on the floor just ones "Excuse me" he said in his heavy accent "am I bothering you sweetheart?" Finally, she rose her head, smiling at him like an innocent kid. "What in the fuck are you doing here?". Anna returned her gaze on the book and shrugged.

"I was out of books and was hoping you'd have one for me."

"you've already read this one."

"Have I?" she asked in shock and if he didn't know any better, he would be fooled by the act. He walked deeper in the room and sat on the couch in the corner, pushing his cane on the floor. His back trembled a little, complaining at him but he ignored it.

"You gave it to me."

"I did, didn't I?" she sighed and flipped through the pages "I guess it is a very nice book. Reminds me a lot of myself."

"I'll ask again and this time sweetie, do me a favor and answer the question. What on earth are you doing here?"

Anna shot him a smile and sat straighter in the bed, suddenly she looked very cheery and excited. Alfie narrowed his eyes at the sudden change of mood. "Alright, alright. Thing is I missed you! I wanted to see you before you went away."

He laughed. It was the only reaction appropriate. He laid back his head and mumbled curses under his breath. She had a way with making people go insane and he hadn't missed being under her spell in the bit "fuckin hell-" She closed the book and left next to the empty spot on the bed, she leaned forward in her knees, cuddling herself and when he looked at her again her grin had something a little more evil. A little naughtier. "believe it or not I'm not here asking for favors, I'm here to grant some."

"You are doing me a favor?"

"Is that so hard to believe?"

He moved forwards, placing his hands on the arms of the chair and examined the demon in his body "your brother came to me ya know."

"I know. I sent him."

"So, he said."

She didn't answer, an intense kind of silence filled the room. She didn't move but he couldn't stay still. He moved back again, rubbed his beard with his right hand while he watched her "so then why are you here?"

"Because I owe you." She said and this time he knew she meant it. She had no mask on, no smile. "You saved my life years ago and now it's time for me to repay you."

"Repay me, how?"

"Things are not gonna go exactly as my bother has imagined tomorrow. Tommy will be after you- "she looked at the nightstand next to the bed and took a piece of paper from there. She folded it and walked over to Alfie, handing it to him "This Is your way out."

Alfie unfolded the paper and read the information on it. It was an address, a different name, and a number. He glanced up at her, she was playing with the drinks trying to choose one for herself. He looked back at the bar and rubbed his mouth with the back of his hand. He folded the paper again and cleared his throat "and how do you know how the events will play out tomorrow?"
