Four P.O.V

"Bro, did you see the new girl?" Zeke asks me.

"I thought you were dating Shauna." I say.

"I am but I've been waiting for this opportunity. You need a girl, like bad." he says to me.

"Don't do anything stupid Ezekiel." I say in a stern voice.

"Yes Mother." he says in a 5 year-old tone. Then he sticks his tongue out at me. Gosh, he can be so immature sometimes.

Zeke has been pairing me up with random chicks like all the time. It usually ends up being super awkward because I always find a way to offend the girl. In my whole group of friends, everyone is basically dating someone. I'm like the 8th wheel. And let me tell you, being the 8th wheel is not very fun.

I am interrupted from my thoughts by Christina and a short blonde chick walking in the room, arms linked. That must be the new girl. I take a closer look at her : she has the most beautiful blue/gray eyes, and her hair is golden blonde and goes down to a little bit above her waist. Even though she's kinda short, I can see the determination in her eyes.

"Four. Four come on man. Don't embarrass yourself in front of the new chick." says Zeke whilst snapping his fingers in front of my face. "What?" I ask coming out of my daze. I hear an angelic sounding giggle come from in front of me. Oh shit. I've been staring at her. "Tris, this is Zeke and Four. Guys, this is Tris." says Christina.

"Hey." she says shyly. Man, I like this girl already. She seems super laid back and not the type of person to be overly dramatic, which I like about her. "Hi," I say. "I'm Four."

"Yeah I know, Christina literally just introduced us." she says with a laugh.

"Oh yeah, that's right." I say flustered. I am probably as red as a tomato right now. I've never really been like this before around girls. I think I might have a crush on Tris.

Tris P.O.V

What is up with this guy. It's like every time I try and talk to him, he gets all flustered and stutteres. He keeps staring at me. Like is there something on my face? The whole class class consists of Christina trying to talk to me about shopping and me ignoring her. "Tris. Are you even listening to me?" Christina whisper-yells.

"Yeah sure." I say still not paying much attention to her. She sighs and gives up on trying to talk to me. I doze off and my mind gets carried away to those beautiful ocean blue eyes. I don't know why I'm even thinking about this Four guy. I mean, we just met. I shouldn't be crushing on someone I just met...right?

"Tris. Tris." I get interrupted from my thoughts by Christina lightly shoving my arm. "Class is over. Come on, we have gym next along with the whole gang. I can't wait to introduce you to them." she says in a cheery voice. I nod and follow her out of the room.

When we get to the girls' locker room, Christina walks up to a small group of girls. "Guys this is Tris, Tris this is Lynn, Shauna, and Marlene." says Christina.

I wave and say, "Hi." I go over to my assigned locker and slip off my shirt. "Zayummm!" exclaims Christina. "What?" I ask. "Dude your boobs-" I cut her off right there. "Don't." I say. After I left Beverly Hills, my body kind of filled out more.

I put on black short yoga shorts, an electric blue tank top, and a black hoodie on top to cover my new and old scars on my arms. When I walk into the gym, I accidentally bump into someone. "Sorry." I mutter but then look up and am met with those eyes. "Oh hey it's you," he says. "Tris right?" I nod looking down.

We walk over to the benches and sit down next to each other, followed by the girls and some guys I haven't met yet. "Oh I almost forgot!" exclaims Christina. "Guys this is Tris, Tris this is Will, Uriah, and Al." I give them my best attempt of a smile and divert my attention to the gym teacher who has just walked in.

"Alright guys!" He shouts, his voice echoing off the high ceilings of the gym. "Four laps around the gym, 50 push-ups, 20 sit-ups, and 40 jumping jacks." The whole class groans, even me and I love this kind of stuff.

~Time Lapse~

"You can eat lunch with us." says Marlene. I follow the whole group outside and we stop at this tall, sturdy looking tree. We all sit down and chat for a little bit until Zeke asks, "So Tris, where ya from?"

"Beverly Hills." I say.

"And what brought you here?" asks Four.

"Um...I'd rather not talk about it. It's kind of a touchy subject." I say. He nods his head understandingly. I finish eating my lunch and say, "I'm gonna head off to music class early." I get a few 'okays' and 'see ya laters.' Except from Four, "I'll come with you." Not wanting to be rude, I gladly have him tag along with me.

We walk in a comfortable silence until we get to the music room. Right now it's empty so I take a seat in front of the piano. "You play?" asks Four whilst dragging a seat over so he's sitting across from me. "Yeah and sing a little." I say. "But I'm not that good." "Oh come on," he says with a grin. "Play something for me."

"I-I don't know." I stutter. "Pwetty pwease." he says with puppy dog eyes. I laugh, and say, "Okay but don't make fun of me." He nods. I take a deep breath and start.

"Goodbye" by Avril Lavigne

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye my love
I can't hide, can't hide, can't hide what has come

I have to go
I have to go
I have to go
And leave you alone
But always know
Always know
Always know that I love you so
I love you so
I love you so, oh

Goodbye brown eyes
Goodbye for now
Goodbye sunshine
Take care of yourself

I have to go
I have to go
I have to go
And leave you alone
But always know
Always know
Always know that I love you so
I love you so, oh
I love you so, oh

La lullaby
Distract me with your rhymes
La lullaby

La lullaby
Help me sleep tonight
La lullaby
(La lullaby, la lullaby)

I have to go (goodbye)
I have to go (lullaby)
I have to go (goodbye)
And leave you alone

But always know (goodbye)
Always know (brown eyes)
Always know (goodbye)
That I love you so

I love you so (goodbye lullaby)
I love you so, oh (goodbye)
I love you so (goodbye brown eyes)
I love you so (goodbye)
I love you so
I love you so

Goodbye brown eyes
Goodbye my love

At the end of the song, I have a few tears rolling down my cheeks. "Wow that was great." says Four. I don't catch any sarcasm in his voice. Wait, was he serious? I wipe away the tears and say, "Sorry I have to go." I stand up but he grabs my wrist before I exit the room. "Tris, you okay?" he asks me.

"Do I look okay!" I snap. He gives me a shocked expression. "Sorry," I mutter pulling my hand away. "I just need to clear my head for a bit." Then I walk out of the school and hop into my car. I don't know where I'm going but I need to get away.
