Chapter 3

Mina Raven Winters

That morning I did not want to get out of bed. Today was the day of the engagement party. I swear my mother came into my room like half a dozen times trying to get me out of bed and each time she did I took just as long just to stay in bed.

"Mother I dont want to go!" I whined throwing the blankets over my head.

"You have to get up and get ready, Im sorry you dont want to go and Im sorry you dont love Aaron, but I promise you will learn to love Aaron in the future." My mother told me.

I rolled my eyes under the blankets. Of course thats my mother the optimistic. I know for an absolute fact that I wont nor will I ever be happy with Aaron. I know for a fact I wont ever love him either. Ok, dont get me wrong I love Aaron, but not in the way that he loves me which is so obvious.

I sigh and get out of bed for the sake of my mother and get into a summer dress thats blue and go down stairs for breakfast.

When I sit down at the table Aaron is already there. "Good morning princess." He smiled at me.

"Morning Aaron." I said giving him a fake smile in return. I cant believe Aaron is my fiance. I looked down at the huge engagement ring that was on my finger and I sigh. When I look up again theres a big breakfast in front of me. The breakfast consist of scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, hash browns, biscuits, orange juice, and coffee. I swear breakfast was amazing.

"So..." I finally say after Im done eating. "What time is the party?" I asked Aaron.

"It starts at 6 p.m. from 12 a.m." Aaron told me.

I sighed I had hours to get ready. "Is there anything I can do to set up?" I asked.

Aaron shook his head and looked at me. "No, everything is set up already. We can have a relaxing day and sit around the mansion or you can get ready, but its kind of early too." Aaron said.

"Want to go swimming?" I asked him and smiled.

"Yea, that sounds like fun." He smiled back.

"Ok, let me get ready." I said getting up from the table. I left and went back into my room and I took my engagement ring off my finger because I didnt want to lose it in the pool and I looked for a decent swim suit to wear. I looked in my closet and then my dresser when I found the perfect one. The swimsuit was a bikini and it was black with white poka dots on it and it was held up only by white string. I put it on and went outside with Aaron who was already in the pool.

I sat down on the lounge chair that was outside and I could tell Aaron was checking me out in my string bikini. I put on my glasses and laid out in the sun kind of checking out Aaron as I did so. I mean, ok, I didnt like Aaron except as a friend, but it doesnt mean I cant look at him right?

My eyes were closed as I was tanning, facing the sun, when I saw someone get into the sun I was trying to absorb and I looked up at Aaron standingg above me. "Can I help you?" I asked flashing him a smile.

"Yes, actually, I want you to come into the pool with me." He said.

"Im tanning I will in a minute." I told him waving him off.

I waited for him to leave and go back into the pool, but he didnt. "Ok, its been a minute lets go." He said nodding towards the pool.

I shook my head. "No Im good." Aaron then picked me up out of the lounge chair I was laying in. "Hey!! Aaron put me down!!!" I yelled.

"No, no, can do." Aaron laughs and jumps into the pool with me still in his arms.

"Ahh!! Cold!!!" I squeek as I come up for air.
