Chapter 10

~Alicia's POV~

"You're not going Alicia." Draco said.

""And why not?"

"It's too dangerous."

"No because I joined him."

"You did what? "

"I joined him."

"All this time-"

"The ministry made me."

"Oh and that's supposed to make it ok? What if the minister dies?"

"Harry was there too."

"He does not have a horcrux keeping him alive anymore Alicia. He could die too. Anyone could die."

"Then come with me if your so concerned."

"And leave the kids unprotected? No thanks"

I sighed and said "I'm trying to do something Draco the least you can do is support me."

"Support you going on a suicidal mission?"

"How is it suicidal?"

"When was the last time you used Occlumency? When have you practiced defensive spells last? It's been almost 30 years since the down fall of The Dark Lord. We have had no reason to use them. Neither of us are Aurors."

"It shouldn't be difficult to get back in to."

"You know what. Do whatever you want. It's obvious your not gonna change your mind."

"Draco please. You need to understand. I'm trying to protect Lillith."

"I want her safe too. But I don't want the love of my life gone either."

"Risks are to be made during war time. You know this."

He sighed and walked out the door.

I sighed and began packing my bags.

~2 weeks later~

McGonagall walked in with some guy I didn't recognize."

"Who is that?"

"Your sub until you come back."

"Very well then. I have 2 months worth of lesson plans already completed just in case this goes longer than expected. I will send more if needed. My children do not get special treatment but their stuff is in my room in a trunk by the dresser if they need anything school supplies wise. You can choose if you want to against the special treatment if you would like considering the circumstances. I have the tutoring schedules right here and detention times, dates, and names right beside them. Be sure to tell the children that they still have them even if I am gone. They try to be scam artists but not good enough for me. Any questions Mr.?"

"Snape. And no I don't have any questions."

I froze not hearing that name in a while.

"I'm sorry. But could I have your full name?"

"Marcus Snape. I'm his cousin"

"My father never mentioned you."

"Severus never really did. Ever since he got away from his family he distanced himself from us."

"Ok then. Well you will be relieved when I get back. Owl me if my children cause any trouble or if their grades begin to slip. I expect them to have at least an Acceptable in everything. I already informed the others you have full permission to look at their progress reports and report cards and, if it comes to that point, exam results. My husband should be here to collect my children."

"Very well Ms. Malfoy."

"Thank you so much for this." I said smiling and shaking his hand.

I looked to McGonagall and said "I'll be back soon."

"Hopefully."

I smiled slightly and left out of the room to the common room.

I called for Lillith and Scorpious down and the slowly walked down the stars with grim faces.

"Ok. I am leaving now. Please be on your best behavior and get good grades. Especially you Scorpious. This sub is family to us. He is your grandfather's cousin so if you have any questions go to him. Especially if you want stories of your grandfather. I'm not sure how he will treat you. You can owl me if you would like but keep it to a minimum. I don't want Trevor to figure out any other weaknesses of you both. Scorpious take care of your sister and watch over her. My mother is ruthless and will try to get to you both. Do. Not. Let. Her. I can not emphasize that enough.  I love you both."

I hugged Scorpious and he hugged me back tightly.

"I promise mother."

"That's my boy I said kissing his cheek softly."

I got down to Lillith's level and she had tears coming down her eyes.

"Oh honey don't cry."

"I don't want you to go."

"I know dear. But I have to do this. I have to protect you. You can be strong for mommy right?"

She nodded and I hugged her tightly.

"I'll be back sooner than you think."

She nodded and said "ok."

"That's my girl." I said and I got up and took one last look at them.

"I'll miss you both and I love you so much. I'll be back."

They nodded and I left out of the room I went against the wall and let a few tears out before composing myself and disapparating to Brownsville, Oregon.
