Hey Guys, I'm back. I reposted Chapter 14 after editing the ending a bit so you can re-read it. Here's the next Chapter!
~~~~~~
My ribs were aching. My hands were hurting. My jaw was getting irritated. Why were parts of my body hurting me?
I was at the fair with Cherish. She dragged me from booth to booth and ride to ride. We even danced on the dance floor. She had too many slurpees. She wanted to go to the...to the bathroom. My eyes snapped open. I remembered. The bathroom. The men. The forest. The fight.
Cherish! Frantically, I looked around only to realise that I was no longer on the forest floor. I was in a room; that much I could tell. The moonlight streamed through the light curtains, giving the room an eerie glow. The room seemed familiar with its expanse and expensiveness of furniture. The softness of the bed I was lying on seemed rather familiar to me but I was giving myself a headache trying to remember where I knew this room from. I knew for sure that I was not in a hospital so I knew that someone had found Cherish and I. But who?
I could hear voices through the door. One was calming. One was aggravated.
"What's the verdict, doc? Is Cherish okay?" The person sounded so much like Tristan. Surely my ears were deceiving me. Had Tristan found Cherish and I?
The other person sighed. "Cherish is fine. A little shaken up but she's fine. They didn't harm her, thankfully."
"And Heaven?" Tristan asked, his voice a little strained.
"The doctor said they really did a number on her. A fractured jaw, bruised ribs, a broken wrist and a sprained wrist. The doctor thinks the person was going to break her other wrist but stopped. Whoever did this was brutal in harming her. You should have left her at the hospital, Tristan."
Something crashed outside the door. "I couldn't leave her there! He would've come back for her! Dammit! Why did I let her go alone? I should've gone with her! I knew he was going to use her to break me!"
There was a brief silence before someone spoke again. "It's okay, Tristan. Heaven and Cherish are safe."
"Safe?" Tristan yelled. "Heaven will not be safe as long as she is with me, Yas! I can't let him take her from me!"
The bedroom door quietly open and Tristan barged in, shutting the door before resting his head on the door. I silently watched as the muscles in his back coiled and uncoiled as he tried to rein in his anger.
"Tristan?" I croaked. I felt like I had inhaled the entire Sahara Desert.
He stiffened before slowly turning around to face me. "You're awake."
"Is it night time?" I asked. My jaw was aching but I ignored it.
He walked over to the bed and sat down in a chair next to it. He put a cup of water to my mouth which I drank greedily. I could see the bags under his eyes and the tiredness in his eyes. "It's two in the morning."
There was a brief silence that I needed to break. I needed answers.
"Are you going to tell me who wants me?" I whispered.
Tristan's hazel eyes darkened immensely and he clenched and unclenched his hands. "No. You shouldn't talk, Heaven. You have a fractured jaw. "
I ignored him. "Are you going to tell me why?"
This time, he turned his head away from me but I could still see his jaw clench together in anger. "No."
"Are you going to tell me everything eventually?"
