Chapter 9- Recording

Lucy's POV

Gildarts takes us to the recording room. It was nothing fancy; it just had the mike behind the glass and the table where you adjust the sound. All in all, it was a pretty cool place.

"What song are we going to do a cover of today?" Natsu asks.

"You guys can pick. I don't really care," Gildarts replies.

"Well, since Luce is new here, why don't we let her pick a song?" Natsu suggests.

"Sure," the rest agree.

"Ok then how about singing Halfway Gone by Lifehouse?" I suggest.

"Ok."

"You were always hard to hold. So letting go ain't easy. I'm hanging on you're growing cold," I start.

After that, we just rotate. I sing, then Natsu, Gajeel, and last was Jellal. We sang the chorus together. I would rate that 8 out of 10. I thought we were pretty good.

"Well, that went better than I expected," Gildarts said.

"What, did you think I was going to sound that bad?" I ask.

"No, it's not that, it was the harmonizing that I was worried about. But you guy are pretty compatible when it comes down to your voices."

"Well, do you guys want to do another one, or take a break now?" Gildarts asks.

"We'll take a break. Agreed?" Natsu asks.

"Yeah, sure. Whatever," I say.

Natsu leads us to a room where there's a bar, and there's a lady standing it.

"Mira?!" I exclaim. She worked here? I didn't know that!

"Oh, hey, Lucy!" She says.

"Don't 'oh, hey' me! When do you start working here?!"

"I've worked here ever since I've moved here. My sister Lisanna works here too. That's how I got the job."

"You've never told me you had a sister! You've only told me about your brother! God, Mira! Do you also have a long lost twin that you haven't told me about?" I say, ranting.

"You guys know each other?" Natsu asks, confused.

"Yeah, but she didn't tell me about her sister," I say, facing him.

"Does she have to tell you everything?" Natsu asks me.

"Yeah. That's just the kind of friends we are."

"But don't you have things that you don't tell your friends? Don't you have secrets you're hiding from everyone?"

I stay silent after that one. I do have secrets I'm keeping from my friends.

"See? Your silence tells me that you agree. You do have secrets. Everyone does," Natsu says.

Well that was deep. And so not Natsu. He's a dense idiot, not a guy who says deep stuff like that.

"Woah, the dumb ass said deep shit!" Gajeel exclaims.

"Shut the fuck up, you jackass! I always say stuff like that!" Natsu replies.

"Yeah right," everyone says.

That was... weird. Oh, well. I just brush it off.

"Can you get me a drink?" I ask Mira.

"What do you want?"

"Whacha got?"

"Water, beer, wine, sodas, that kind of stuff," she replies.

"Eh, I'll take a spiked soda."

"This early in the morning?" Mira asks, concern laced in the question.

"It won't kill me have a drink. Will it?" I say the second part to myself.

"Sure won't kill you, but that doesn't make it right," Gajeel says.

"In my book, if it don't kill you, it's ok."

The other guys stare at me weirdly. Probably because I was going to drink alcohol. And I'm underaged. But since when has age stopped me?

"Here's your spiked soda," Mira says, slamming the drink down on the table.

"Why'd you slam it?" I ask, raising an eyebrow at her.

"I hate serving people, especially you."

"Why?" I ask, knowing perfectly why she hated serving me.

She looks at me like she was saying 'Really? Are you kidding me?'

I take a sip of the amazingly delicious spiked coke.

"You guys want a sip?"

"No. We don't drink because of the whole underaged thing. But Gajeel is a drinker," Natsu says.

"Party pooper."

"Law breaker."

"Whatever," I say.
